Bottle (2011?) from a generous trader. Aroma and flavor of lighter version of TREAT, only nutmeg, clove, and slight pumpkin remains. A little past it's prime (and we probably shouldn't have had it before a stellar RareR DOS), I enjoyed it just the same. Stick to the fresh TREAT. It's better. Very good beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Huge thanks to Shig for scoring this one for me. Immense cheers, my friend!! Pours a porter brown with thin off white head. Nose is spice, pumpkin pie, cinnamon, chocolate, pumpkin, and cocoa. Flavor is similar with earth, cocoa, cinnamon, chocolate, spice, and lingering chocolate. Medium in body with lingering chocolate.

Bottle as shown. Pours a dark brown with small beige head that lasts. The aroma is strong spice, nutmeg and cinnamon, oak, cocoa. Medium mouth, strong chocolate, spice, oak, very nice.

Shared 2014 bomber poured to small snifters, displaying an opaque, black/brown hue, with a presentable & fairly persistent layer of brownish tan head foam, and spots, patches, and strands of lacing. The nose was roasted, with a dry cocoa nature, and spices with highlighted, light cinnamon, and a hint of barrel/oakiness. Medium bodied, the taste was an even keeled blend of the aroma notes where nothing really stood out, and included a roasted & earthy bitterness with some added tannic astringency. Liked it as well as the non-BA version.

Aroma: intense pumpkin, spices, caramel, toffee, alcohol. Appearance: dark, hazy brown, medium, beige, creamy head. Taste: medium sweet. Palate: alcohol, massive sweets, caramel, sugars, pumpkin spices, soft carbonation, full body. Overall: excellent interpretation of a fortified pumpkin ale. Bottle from the brewery, Anchorage.

same score as the non-oaked version, but in this one the aroma shines a little more...and maaaaaybe just a touch smoother, but damn good porter and damn good pumpkin beer either way.

I think I had an unintentionally infected version of this. It was very sour on the nose and flavor, but most people aren’t saying it is a sour beer, but the flavor and aroma of what I tasted would say otherwise.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown with tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, dark chocolates, and pumpkin. Taste is subtle on the pumpkin with more of the chocolate and malts.

Bottle sample in 2010 from notes. Pours a dark brown color with a medium sized khaki colored head. The aroma is nice; sweet pumpkin notes, the usual spices, nutmeg, cinnamon, chocolate and toasted malts. The flavor has more of the same goodness; chocolate and toasted malts with fleshy pumpkin and spices. The oak becomes noticeable and smooths the beer out even more and the aroma may pop a bit more than the base beer. Very drinkable and a real treat.

bomber shared. poured a dark brown color with off white head. the aroma is out of this world. a unique blend of pumpkin and spices, chocolate nibs, nutmeg, cinnamon and oak...all very distinctive and so dreamy good. the flavor is quite intense on different levels. you get the pumpkin and the spices followed by the chocolate nibs very flavorful and different in a good way. the chocolate gives it an undertone of sweetness. a flavors are layered throughout and very good. this is one of the best pumpkins ales I have had.
