4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottled. A pitch black beer with a lazing brown head. The aroma is very complex with notes of sweet malt, wood, fruit, and alcohol. The flavor is sweet with notes of soy sauce, wood, malt, alcohol, and caramel, leading to a dry woody finish. The alcohol tickles the tongue.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
No idea who brought this bottle to the DC gathering, but I thank them very much. I am normally allergic to any pumpkin beers, but this one had an interesting aroma of nutmeg and chocolate cream pie, with a flavor of cocoa, spice and fruit that was not over the top. Highly recommended.
