COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
OK, what do you get when we toss pale malted barley, pumpkin and spices into a stainless steel cauldron then stir in some magic? Uh, Trickster! The “magic” is actually mischievous Belgian yeast at play with cardamom, nutmeg and coriander. This spooky cool brew will make your glass glow bright despite the gloominess of the season.

Designed to conjure up a little fun during the darkening days of autumn, Trickster is a frivolous concoction of earthy pumpkin, comforting malt, and lively spices. This makes Trickster the brew to accompany your post-winterizing duties, family fall dinners, ghost stories, U-boast-iT stories, and “supposedly haunted” garage parties.

But the flavor range of Trickster also pairs well with citrusy and/or spicy cuisine. Try a glowing glass with your favorite dishes that incorporate nutmeg, cardamom or coriander—like Thai curries, Swedish meatballs, gingerbread…or seek out new recipes on the web. The possibilities are endless. Unfortunately our Trickster supply will end soon. Get it and enjoy it now!

Location: 22 oz bottle from Whole Foods-Bowery, 3/27/13, This beer is to moving forward!

Aroma: The nose is has some spice, ginger, clove, pumpkin, sweet malts, and Belgian yeast
Appearance: Pours a clear orange color with a small off-white head and some drippy lace-work
Flavor: The taste is mid-sweet, with a nice spice component, and some light bitterness
Palate: The body is medium, it has a nice, clean feel, tingly carbonation, and a mildly dry finish
Overall Impression: I have a fairly limited cellar/fridge selection right now, but this seemed like the perfect beer to use for a nice celebratory drink! Anyway, this is another really nice one from Midnight Sun. I’ve been lucky enough to try a few, but I’d like to get my hands on more of their beers for sure. Not only it this one a complex and flavorful beer, but I found it to be both really interesting and really good as well.

Beer #4. Aroma is earthy, Belgian yeast imparting banana, light clove. Pours hazy orange with a medium beige head with good retention. Taste is extremely earthy, clove. Highly carbonated, medium-bodied. Second beer in a row with very little to no pumpkin character. Not bad for a spiced up earthy tripel, though.

Thanks to buddy of mine in Anchorage. This beer smells wonderful, pumpkin, and spices for sure. Taste is very dry. Pumpkin is there and so are the spices, and the wheat troo. It reminds me of of mix wheat and pumpkin. great froathy white head Bananas, nutmeg and cloves dominate the taste. Very carbinated Light orange color. Very nice beer indeed

UPDATED: FEB 24, 2013 Crisp copper and amber coloured body with a nice rich tan head, about two centimetres tall. Aroma of light spice, a bit of brown sugar, some earthy malt and a hint of nuts - nice and complex. Medium-bodied; Nice robust earthy malts at first with a definite pumpkin and spice flavour with some light sweetness behind. Aftertaste shows a mostly dry and spicey flavour with a lot of nice malt, some sweetness and also a hint of peanuts. Overall, a good and complex beer with a bunch of flavour and a nice malty flavour profile. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Half Time in Poughkeepsie, New York on 26-December-2012 for US$9.99 sampled at home in New Paltz, New York on 21-February-2013.

22 oz bottle- Pours a very hazy orange with a one finger off white head that reduces to a blanket. Aroma is kind of beery, generic, sweet, Belgian yeast, spices. The taste is very Belgian, yeasty, earthy, spices. I am not really getting much pumpkin, maybe a general vegetal taste, but I want a pumpkin taste in my pumpkin beer. Still a tasty beer.

Pours orange/gold into the glass with a small white head. Aroma is sweet with a bit of bubblegum and spice. Flavor is relatively light malt sweetness with some fruitiness. The pumpkin flavor is hard to notice, but overall the beer is very pleasant. Medium to light bodied with a good lingering sweetness.

Golden amber color out of the bottle with a thin white head. Nose of sweet malt and some spice. Malty beer with some white sugar and honey sweetness with some subtle nutmeg and spice flavors. This was an easy drinking beer and not as big as I expected from a Midnight Sun pumpkin.
