COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
OK, what do you get when we toss pale malted barley, pumpkin and spices into a stainless steel cauldron then stir in some magic? Uh, Trickster! The “magic” is actually mischievous Belgian yeast at play with cardamom, nutmeg and coriander. This spooky cool brew will make your glass glow bright despite the gloominess of the season.

Designed to conjure up a little fun during the darkening days of autumn, Trickster is a frivolous concoction of earthy pumpkin, comforting malt, and lively spices. This makes Trickster the brew to accompany your post-winterizing duties, family fall dinners, ghost stories, U-boast-iT stories, and “supposedly haunted” garage parties.

But the flavor range of Trickster also pairs well with citrusy and/or spicy cuisine. Try a glowing glass with your favorite dishes that incorporate nutmeg, cardamom or coriander—like Thai curries, Swedish meatballs, gingerbread…or seek out new recipes on the web. The possibilities are endless. Unfortunately our Trickster supply will end soon. Get it and enjoy it now!

Golden burnt orange in color... Aroma of light pumpkin spices, light citrus, honey... Flavor is light and sweet, lots of candi sugar, gives way to spicy coriander, nutmeg, cinnamon and pumpkin spice finish... Enjoyable sessionable pumpkin beer ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

22 oz bottle. Clear amber with a diminishing head that settles to a haze. Roasted pumpkin really pops out in the nose. Yeasty with hints of nutmeg, coriander and clove. Pulpy medium body with a tang. Taste is pumpkin and brown sugar, more squashy than sweet. Orange peel and spices finishing with a clove ginger buzz. The vegetal earthiness is nicely countered by the zing of the spices.

Bottle:   Darker golden, smidgen of haze, large frothy off-white head, nice lacing.   Has very much of a farmhouse Saison sort of nose, musty wheat/hay.   Also has some nutmeg like spices in the background.   Not really sure how Pumpkin oriented this one is.   As it warms up getting more of a corriander/grains of paradise like aroma.   Yeah, very Belgianesque in its flavor.   This almost has more in common with a Witbier than it does a Pumpkin spiced sort of beer.   The nutmeg gets overshadowed with corriander.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Musty corriander like finish.   Not quite a Pumpkin, not quite a Saison, not quite a Witbier.   Its all parts of those though.   Interesting beer at least.   However, I do wish it was more Pumpkin oriented.

Appearance: Pours copper with a white ring around the top.

Aroma: Sweet malt, candi sugar, clove, banana.

Taste: Dry malt, spicy hops, toasted pumpkin, clove, candi sugar.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied. Spicy dry carbonation.

Overall: A decent Belgian, but if you were expecting a pumpkin beer, you will be disappointed as the pumpin is very subtle.

Draft at Rattle with Npodendorf. Pours orange with a white head. Fruity, like peaches and apricot almost, some light spicy notes, yeast, and light wheaty notes. Relatively well balanced.

Bottle. Pours with a medium clarity, orange-bronze hued body with a medium sized off-white head that slowly fades. Aromas are of spices: ginger/gingerbread, cardamom, allspice, nutmeg, medium malt toasty qualities, light estery yeast and peppery phenolics. Flavors show a toasted malt quality, a bit crackery with warming spices notes (nutmeg and cinnamon and possibly light coriander). Toned down belgian yeast provides only a light fruity character. Medium body with high carbonation. Overall, it is quite a bit more balanced than I was expecting; definitely a good thing.

Pours a hazy copper-orange with an off-white head and lacing. It has a nice aroma of biscuit, coriander, and cinnamon, with a flavor that is spices and malt up front with a bread and pumpkin backbone and finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

bomber; pours clear orange with thin white head; nice aromas of gourds, dried vegis, wheat and yeast; the gourds reminds me of a Cambridge brewing beer from the Elysian pumpkin fest; texture is thin with crackers, lemons, cloves and generic vegi flavors; slightly medicinal; like the aromas, but drinks rather strange with uneven mix of nutmeg-type spices and stale coriander

Tap @ Elysian’s Great Pumpkin Beer Fest... Poured clear, golden orange with a white head. Big Belgian yeast esters with some pumpkin spice. Residual sweetness from the malt and a drying, yeasty finish. A little underwhelming compared to the others at the fest.
