Appearance: Pours copper with a white ring around the top.
Aroma: Sweet malt, candi sugar, clove, banana.
Taste: Dry malt, spicy hops, toasted pumpkin, clove, candi sugar.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied. Spicy dry carbonation.
Overall: A decent Belgian, but if you were expecting a pumpkin beer, you will be disappointed as the pumpin is very subtle.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bomber from Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours hazy orange amber with a transient beige head. Aroma is very light pie spice. Med body or better. Flavor is pie spice, but there is the yeast/fruit ester thing playing in. It’s thinning rapidly and the flavors aren’t really strong. It’s nice, but it’s not very exciting? Damning with faint praise? It isn’t really sweet or bitter. The flavors tend to fade away.

Sample at Kurtkeller 001: Pumpkin-tastic 01 on 11/22/2013. Clear orange color with a medium white head that dissipates steadily to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of cloves, malt and pumpkin. Medium-bodied with flavors of cloves, yeast, earthy malt and ginger. The finish is mildly spiced with a ginger and yeast aftertaste. Decent overall.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Aroma dominated by cardimon and nutmeg with moderate clove. Coppers range with off white head. Pretty. Spice dominates flavor with cardimon and clove. Proving yet again I don’t like pumpkin ales.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Beer #4. Aroma is earthy, Belgian yeast imparting banana, light clove. Pours hazy orange with a medium beige head with good retention. Taste is extremely earthy, clove. Highly carbonated, medium-bodied. Second beer in a row with very little to no pumpkin character. Not bad for a spiced up earthy tripel, though.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
22 oz bottle- Pours a very hazy orange with a one finger off white head that reduces to a blanket. Aroma is kind of beery, generic, sweet, Belgian yeast, spices. The taste is very Belgian, yeasty, earthy, spices. I am not really getting much pumpkin, maybe a general vegetal taste, but I want a pumpkin taste in my pumpkin beer. Still a tasty beer.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
I suppose now is the time to try this one. Amber-orange color with a short-lived fizzy head. No head retention. Soft Belgian yeast aroma, with clove, and fruity esters. Gentle nutmeg, cinnamon, and cardamon enter the mix. The flavors are a bit sweet, with Belgian yeast, brown sugar, clove, and a fruity ester character. There’s pumpkin spices; the same as noted in the aroma, with some more pumpkin specific flavors too. Not much of a crusty, cracker thing going on though. If I didn’t already know this was a "pumpkin beer" it may just pass as a decent Belgian Ale. While I was happy to find the pumpkin not so dominant, I was still a bit underwhelmed by this beer. It grew on me from my initial impression but nothing is here to get me overly excited with it. For what it’s worth, I would much rather have their TREAT.
