3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Damico (1914) - Royersford, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 25, 2013
Pours dark unclear blackish brown with a creamy beige head. The aroma and flavor are both lighter than expected for sure. The aroma brings a light subtle hoppiness, a bit sweet and blended well with roasted malts. Flavor is quite similar, hops fade in and out slowly for sure bringing super smooth brew with no bite at all. Maybe a bit too subtle for my palate, but nice overall.

3/21/13. 22oz bottle thanks to bitbucket. Deep brown black pour with a nice khaki head. Rich American hop aroma - citrus, pine, dank, and more - with a balanced dose of maltiness and roast. The flavor follows suit and adds a nice bitterness. Delish.

22 oz bottle poured into an Allagash tulip. Pours oily thick with a light brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, dusty chocolate, stale coffee and faint pine. Taste is mostly roasty, with bitter chocolate, not a whole lot of hops here, but maybe hidden beneath everything else. The mouth is pretty luscious and creamy that I can dig. Lingering tastes of stale coffee and chocolate. Not quite sure what the intention in flavor was here, but I probably had an old bottle. There are other better Black IPAs out there
