@CPH BeerFest2010. Slightly hazy rubyish brown colour with a small off-white fluffy head. Aroma is caramel malts, alcohol, raisins, some mild vanilla as well as some fudge and mild fruityness. Flavour is quite much the same in a nice balance. Pleasant.

UPDATED: JAN 30, 2012 50 cl bottle, pours dark amber with little head, aroma is of caramel and wood, taste is very sweet with notes of caramel, malt and syrup. Not very complex.

About 100ml poured from a bottle. Ring around the rim of the glass atop of a deep, dark amber body. Vinous aroma of dried fruits. Jam-like flavour with raisin, apricot and other dried fruits joined by sweet dark malts. Dry warming alcohol. Well bodied. Should be a great sipper. Very sweet, though (CBF, 06.05.2010).

Bottled. A cloudy deep red beer with a lazing red-brown head. The aroma has strong notes of over ripe fruits and alcohol, as well as medium notes of malt and wood. The flavor is very sweet with strong notes of alcohol, over ripe fruits, and malt, as well as medium notes of caramel and wood, leading to a sweet and smooth finish. The alcohol tickles and warms the palate.

.5 liter bottle. Thanks to Simon from In de Wildeman for giving me this!! Appearance is dark amber, slightly clear, thin head dissipating, light lace. Aroma is smell caramel, toffee, raisin, fruity esters, light american hops, slight oxidations, big sweet fruity ester. Flavor is earthy leather, caramel sweet malt, toffee, brown sugar, raisin, slight apple. Smooth in the finish wiht a nice green grassy bitterness- overall a pretty solid barleywine.

Clear amber with a tiny off white head. Sweet aroma with toasted malt, caramel and overripe plums. Sweet flavour with toasted malt, caramel and hoppy notes. Finished bitter.

hazy amber, smooth light yellow head.
hoppy spicy barley wine aroma, a little bit too much old beer aroma, but that’s just me not very fond of old beer style barley wine’s in general.
Flavor is old beer (faint), sweetness (hay or sugarish), caramel, candy. raisins, nice warming barley wine, however a toffee like bitterness is a bit of a distractor from the otherwise nice flavor profile.

Hazy, red colered brew. Aroma of raisins, caramel malts, sweetness, tart. Flavor is sweet, bourbon, chocolate. Thick texture. Could be a bit more complex, straightforward.

Bottled. Hazy, red-brown color, short head. Aroma has caramel malt, raisin, bit bready. Taste is sweet, some raisin, caramel malt. Decent beer.
