COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

[Sampled with the duo Svoger & Svogergylp at DØE, Valby, 2009.] Barleywine for everybody. In my eyes many barleywines are too much challenging or just not good enough, although I like the style. Thisone is great with mellow mouthfeel and a very wellbalanced mix of flavors. Notes of warming alcohol. dried fruits, caramel, positive bitterness, port, fullfillness. All very welldone. My next speech will be with thisone!

Aroma of sweet alcohol, caramel, fruity and some vanilla-oak. Clear amber with white head, not lasting. Taste is moderate+ sweet and light bitter. Full body, oily texture, light carb., sweet caramel alcohol warming finish.

Bottle. Hazy hazelnut brown with a small off white head. Flowers, honey, berries, soap, sugar, lemon, paint. Feels light for the size. Some sweetness, not that much bitterness, light acidity. Warming alcohol, also slightly hot mouthfeel. Atypical at least and not something I will buy again. Boosts good, though.

For a Barley Wine lover, this is a let down. Too sweet and sugary, off balance, no real complexity.

Tap@Taphouse, Copenhagen - dark reddish brown pour with off white head. Sweet malty aroma and taste, dark dried fruity notes, sultana and raisin, caramel, toffeish, pretty boozy into the sweet finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Gluepot (391) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 30, 2015
Malt with some sourness in the nose. A subtle mixture of caramel, peaches, and pears on top of buscuity malt. Very European in that it is rich, sweet and has no evidence of hops. Well crafted but quite one sided.
