COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

23.10.2011. 0,5l Bottle. Dark amber brown colour with a thin layered off-white head. Aroma is rich malty with lots of malty flavours, caramel and roasted sweetness. This beer has a wonderful smell. Very good flavours of caramel malt. Very sweet with strong notes of alcohol. Low on bitterness. There is some nice, very soft tones of flowers and aroma hops at the back of this beer. Conclusion: Sweet caramel and very good.

500 ml bottle courtesy of Jacob. Thanks. Best before 30-05-2014. Pours a dark amber color with a small off white head that slowly fades to a fine film. The aroma is soft and understated with sweet musty pears, filberts and maple. The taste is mostly sweet with saccharin pears, apples, frangelico and a touch of sherry. The palate is full and creamy with soft carbonation. Finishes long and sticky sweet. Overall: Fans of sweet barley wines will love this one, and it should age well for those holding an extra bottle in the cellar. I’d love to see what time would do to this one, its better than average now, but could turn out great with about five years on it.

Bottle. Amber red, finger thick tanned head. Aroma of prunes, raisins and roasted malts. Very fruity indeed. Taste is same with tons of sweetness. Also light hints of chocolate. Almost like a dessert wine this. Finish is quite bitter with some interesting hops. Feel is quite sticky. A pretty good Barley Wine

500ml bottle. Amber with an off white head. Some apple, overripe fruit, barley, alcohol, sugar, old hops. Moderate body, mild carbonation, very sweet, becomes even more so on the finish with a very sweet caramelized pear ending.

500ml bottle from IPB.
Appearance : Deep amber with medium foamy head.
Aroma : Rich caramel with rich piny and herbal hops. Light resinous notes. Great malty caramel. Toffee.
Taste : Caramel with herbal and piny hops. Not very heavy on the piny. Finish caramel and herbal hops, light resinous and piny notes. Fairly persistent caramel on the finish with light hops and light alcohol. Some toffee on the late finish.
Palate : Moderate carbonation. Maybe a bit on the high side for the style.
Overall : Really nice example of the style. Nothing fancy but very well executed. I really enjoy the balance between hops and malt. The malt is quite nice and the hops are not taking too much space in the profile. A very elegant barley wine.
