COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Bottle @BBF 2010. Highs: Strong sweet flavor (and I’m not a Barley Wine fan...). Lows: An odd scent in the nose, couldn’t quite place it and the sip overwhelmed anything there. Nice.

Pours a coppery colored with a small head. Aroma of oxidised caramels. Sweet with dark fruits. Taste is sweet malts and liquified dates. A very faint metallic hint, probably due to the oxidation. Full bodied with soft co2.

Bottle. Pours caramel brown with beige head and some lacing. Aroma is all about barley and caramel. Same for the taste, which goes along some hints of hops. Sweetness is well balanced. Alcohol well hidden despite ABV. Thick mouthfeel. Some warming alcohol. Excellent BW!

Bottle (50cl). Finger-thick off-white, semi-sticky head, fairly good retention. Murky amber colour. Aroma of malt, oak, caramel, ripe fruit (banana, pear, yellow apple), yeast, marzipan. Full body, quite flat carbonation. Sweet malty-fruity taste, balanced by a slowly growing bitterness, and a mild acidity.

Bottle. Pours a clear copper color with a small off-white head. Aroma is of malt, caramel and fruits. Taste is sweet and complex with notes of malt, lots of different fruits, caramel, spices and alcohol. Full body and oily texture. Long sweet aftertaste of malt, caramel and fruits with a boozy finish. Quite good.

Deep honey color with a tiny head. This is all raw honey! The aroma is pretty much nothing else and you’d think you were smelling a honey jar if you were blindfolded. Not so overwhelming in the taste but still has a huge presence, along with some fruits and caramel. I quite like it!

Bottle. Pours hazy nutty brown with medium light brown head. Aroma is malt syrup, wheat bread, honey and prunes. Taste is extremely sweet and light bitter. Body is syrupy with light fizzy carbonation. Finish is long and very sweet with notes of malt, caramel, blueberries and sweet chocolate. Overall very (too) sweet on it?s own but it may be nice with a dessert.
