COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Aroma is smell caramel, toffee, raisin, fruity esters, light american hops, slight oxidations, big sweet fruity ester. 500ml Bottle: Got in trade from stobbe74; THANKS Soeren! Aroma of malt, vegetables, slight vinegar, slight caramel, slight diacetyl, and toffee. Poured deep amber/brown in color with a medium-sized, creamy, dense, tan head that greatly diminished but lasted throughout as a film on top of the beer. Cloudy. Slightly sparkling. Full of tiny-sized particles throughout. Flavor is medium sweet. Tastes of malt, toffee, vegetables, and slight diacetyl. Medium body. Viscous, the slightly sticky texture. Soft to average carbonation. Malt, diacetyl, toffee, vegetable finish is medium sweet and slightly sticky. 10%ABV is completely hidden throughout.

Pours reddish brown with a beige head. Aroma is light malt and quite hoppy (citrus) for a barleywine. Flavour is sweet caramel, light bitter, medium citrus hop and light fruit.

sayravai (4655) - Helsinki, FINLAND - OCT 10, 2009
(Bottled) Hazy dark ruby with a small, firm and tanned head. Sweet and grainy, very malty aroma with lots of creamy toffee and a touch of strawberry. Flavor is sweet and biscuity-malty with (straw)berries, toffee, cream, dried fruit, and some smooth-n-warming alcohol. Quite full body, thick and creamy mouthfeel with low carbonation. A somewhat sweet and straightforward, but clean and enjoyable barley wine.

0.5 l bottle, thanks Timo A! Red-brown color. Sweet aroma with juicy berries and toffee. Sweet toffeish and berryish flavor with red currant and caramel. Stylewise english barley wine, which is not one of my flavourite styles.

Bottled. Aroma has caramel malts, raisin, some bread/rye and toffee. Hazy, red-brown coloured beer with an off-white head. The taste is sweet, bit vinous, quite malty (caramel/toffee, raisin). Good body. okay beer.

500 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 10.0%. Copper colour, large off-white head. Malty aroma, also strong notes of dark dried fruits and caramel, hints of oak. The fairly sweet flavour has notes of dark dried fruits, brown syrup and plenty of caramel, hints of oak. The bitterness is quite moderate, a little more wouldn’t hurt. Still a decent barleywine. I hate myself for not having some Blue Stilton cheese to go with it.
