COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

BBE 15-03-2014 - Pours dark orange with a foamy white head. Aroma of sticky sweet syrupy notes, hints of caramel, gooseberries and spices. Taste is sweet, malty, caramely with notes of gooseberries and syrup. Finish is sweetish and caramely. Decent, quite sweet and malty barley wine.

Bottle. [Beer festival 2009] Average creamy beige head that mostly lasted. Fair display of lacework. Clear amber color. Aroma of bread, butterscotch, fruit, grain, caramel and light spicy notes. Medium to almost full bodied with a soft carbonation and light dry texture. Moderated sweet flavor with light bitterness. Malty and warming finish.

Red amber body and bubbly instable head. Pleasant herbal hops over amber malts. Sort of English ale with Eastern European appeal. Interesting but unexpected. Very sweet, but not quite the aromatics to justify these. Warming alcohol overpowers too. Unbalanced. (50cl bottle from SpeciaalBierPakket)

Bottle. Pours slightly hazy darkish amber with airy off-white head. Clear aroma of fruit, malt, yeast and caramel. Booze in the long nose. Sweet flavour of caramel malt, with fruity and estery touches and pronounced, bitter alcohol notes. Bittersweet aftertaste with mild hints of metal. An OK Barley Wine, but I have tasted better beers of this style.

Bottle at CBF, Valby. Orange with a off-white head. Aroma heavy malty (caramel, roasted, dark fruits), moderate hoppy. Flavor heavy sweet and alcoholic, moderate bitter. Full body with lot’s of alcohol, well hidden. To be rerated after some years.

Draught at SBWF 2010 (Elixir Wine). It poured a hazy amber liquid with a small white head. This is a well balanced Barley Wine, with a thick malty body and nice sweetness.

Sampled at DØE Beerfestival 2009, Valby. Pours a redbrown beer with an offwhite head. The aroma is hops and sweetness, a little thin. The flavor is bolder than the aroma, but follows the nose. The palate is bitterness and sweetness. Overall this beer could use some more sweetness.

Bottle at home. Aroma of cough syrup, caramel, dark malts, some spices and sugar. Flavor is sweet and alcoholic, quite round and thick bodied. A tiny hint of diacetyl, but nothing to worry about. Nice brew.

(50 cl.
