COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Bottle. Pours clear deep amber coloured with a medium sized light brown head. Aromas of caramal, dark fruit, pineapple and alcohol. Super sweet flavour with notes of toffee, malt, sugar and mild hops. It needs more bitterness - more balance..

Sampled at DØE Beerfestival 2009, Valby. Pours a redbrown beer with an offwhite head. The aroma is hops and sweetness, a little thin. The flavor is bolder than the aroma, but follows the nose. The palate is bitterness and sweetness. Overall this beer could use some more sweetness.

0.5 l bottle, thanks Timo A! Red-brown color. Sweet aroma with juicy berries and toffee. Sweet toffeish and berryish flavor with red currant and caramel. Stylewise english barley wine, which is not one of my flavourite styles.

500 ml bottle.
Pours a cloudy amber brown colour with a white foamy head. Aroma of strong gooseberries, nettles and caramel. Flavour of strong caramel malts, sweet berries, gooseberries, nettles and hay. Medium bodied, oily mouthfeel and a very sweet finish. Decent.

Cunningham (4678) - Halden, NORWAY - DEC 12, 2013
Appearance: Clear deep copper color with a tan head. Off white head. Ok lacing.
Aroma: Fruity and sweet malty.
Palate: Medium to full body. Sweet and a mild bitterness. Average to soft carbonation.
Taste: Sweet malty, vinous and fruity. Very well hidden alcohol.
Overall impression: A bit to sweet for me. Probably a quite typical barley wine as it should be. I am a hop head..
Personal stats: Bottle from Vinmonopolet in Fredrikstad, Norway

Bottle from the zwergs. Amber brown. Butterscotch vanilla, burnt caramel, some darker fruity notes, towards raisins. Full bodied, with sweet cola flavours. Interesting. Isn’t as dark musty as many, but really cola- like sweet. Overripe musty fruits. I’m not really a fan of the style, but nice clean flavourful stuff.

50cl bottle. Clear reddish amber colour with a small off-white head. Raisin, plums and caramel in the aroma. Average to soft carbonation and medium body. Taste is too sweet, with some liquorice notes. Overall, a fulsome sweet beer than can turn into something boring.

A little hazy brown colored beer, with a thick foamy beige head. The aroma of sweet caramel with some chocolate and fruits. The taste is sweet with a little bitter. There is some choclate with spices. A little sticky. The aftertaste is sweet with some bitter with spices. Also a bit burny.
