(50 cl bottle from Coca @ Torvehallerne) Pours black with rich, toffee head that has good lace and retention. Aroma is roasted grain and licorice much like a good Baltic Porter. Truly creamy on the palate, full-bodied yet light with soft carbonation and a dark, toasted finish with lingering notes of licorice. Taste is a bit less intense than a Limfjordsporter but pleasant with the licorice complimenting the toasted malt nicely.

Bottle from Voldby, DK - black in colour with a very thin dissipating tan head. Roasted and slightly smokey caramel malts. The liquorice finish i found to be abit overpowering overall for my palate.

Opaque black - brown beer, good tan head. Smooth palate, silky. Creamy dark malt - nicely done, no roast or bitterness. Trace of rye spice. Licorice comes through in the finish and the aftertaste. Fresh minerals. Smooth easy drinking stout, hides the alcohol effortlessly.

500 ml bottle. Thanks Timo A.
Pours a dark brown, almost black colour with a beigeish head. Aroma of roasted malts, espresso, salty licorice and bread. Flavour of roasted malts, licorice, bread, grassy hops and some mild unpleasant vegetables. Medium bodied, slick mouthfeel and a rather bitter, also rich finish. Good.

50 cl bottle @ Timo A.
Pours deep dark red color with minimal head. Aroma of dark burnt malts, licorice, dark berry notes, vanilla, some dark cocoa notes, mild ripe fruits and caramel. Flavor of licorice, vanilla, dark toasted malts, ash, some coffee hints, dark berries and chocolate, tar, and a dash of caramel. Very thick, creamy palate with dry malty finish. Very good.

Aroma has cocoa, some coffee and licorice. Flavour has licorice, coffee, cocoa, some dark chocolate and hints of jalopeno-like vegetables. Could be more rich and the vegetable notes disturb a bit. But good stuff anyway.

Bottle, 8.2%. Sweet and papery aroma, late hint of salt liquorice. Not black, but a very dark brown colour, seems clear. Very big stable light brown head. The flavour is also sweet and slightly papery. There is a roasted liquorice note, like raw liquorice. The liquorice lingers on for quite a while in the finish.

0.5l bottle. A deep brown, quite clear body with a nice big and somewhat lasting khaki-brown head. It smells sweet with some mild roastiness, some cocoa, a bit of dust, sweet white chocolate, some hints of grass and it’s not to extreme on the licorice, present but more subtle. The flavor is at first quite on the salty side. Much licorice as well, but it still somehow manages to not be salty-licorice. A bit of plastic disturbs a bit, and it’s medium-bodied with a soft to average carbonation level and a oily to watery texture in the mouth. Ends light salty with licorice pastilles and more red plastic. A good licorice stout with just a bit of lack on the licorice, and I have to say, surprisingly light bodied for a 8 percenter. 13.07.2012
