COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

500 mL bottle. Pours clear, reddish-amber with a white head that fades. Apple, candi sugar, lemon drop and mild yeasty phenols. Dry and crisp with a fruity sweetness on the front and plenty of red chili on the back. Moderate body and carbonation. While I enjoy a well made chili stout, it ruins a tripel for me...

From LCBO. Nice aroma of raspberries, smells tart. Hint of chili in taste, with some sweetness. Pretty good. Chili takes a bit to kick in, lips are tingling after a fee sips.

Dette er absolut en øl af højeste kvalitet, den hænger utroligt godt sammen i smagen trods chilien. Chilien er nøje afstemt. En fantastisk øl

Bottle 0,5l. Pours an hazy orange colour with a tiny off white head. Aroma is very yeasty, light tropical fruit, with sweet stone fruit. Mouth feel is flat, carb is quite low. Light bread, light cereals, light stone fruit. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

From bottle pours cloudy dark gold colour with almost no head. Aroma has some subtle fruit. Taste is a bit different. There is a bit of the spicy chili in there but I don’t think I like its mix with the Belgian triple fruity and sweet tastes.

Wow the scores are all over the place for this one, ranging from angry "where’s-the-chili?" low scores to confusing "not-that-good-but-I-will-over-rate-it-high anyway" high scores (see below me for e.g.). Lets deconstruct this mess. Starts off poorly, with an ugly pour. Flavour profile is rock candy sugar, stone fruit & a hint of pepper. The finish is where the heat emerges. I don’t know. It’s okay, but nothing I’d recommend nor would I buy it again. It just doesn’t add up.

UPDATED: FEB 12, 2015 Pours a rich golden orange colour with almost no head. Sweet floral nose, banana and yeast. When chilled taste was predominantly tropical fruit and next to no chili. Once sat to warm flavour mellows, opening into stone fruit, light caramel and subtle citrus . Sweet and peppery start translates to a pleasantly long chili finish. Not true to a Tripel style but passable as a fruit/spiced beer.

Rating 6300! [Bottle (500ml)] Pours a deep bubbly amber-gold with a small lasting frothy tan head. Aroma of sugar, caramel malt, bread, Belgian yeast, alcohol and fruit. Flavour’s the same but with a good amount of spices, some sugar and yeast added -- really good. Medium bodied. Enjoyable Tripel.

0.5 bottle. Very hazy, amber color and a small, off-white head. Aroma of yeasts, hay, some fruits, and a touch of caramel. Taste is sweet, some spices, and chili piquancy subduing anything else. Medium body, creamy texture, and soft carbonation. Finish is also spicy and piquant, a little bit of a trippel can be felt in the background. Overall the beer is mediocre. It piqued my interest due to the addition of chili and it certainly makes the beer more interesting but definitely not better - worse even.
