Bottle at James’s 4k/5k/10k tasting. Pours a deep black with a thin to medium sized dense tan head. Big roast, warm cocoa and a bit of smoke. Medium bodied, a bit astringent, warm brownies. Big cocoa on the finish, dusty and bitter.

Bottle at Pikkulintu. Pours pretty black with a nice brown white smooth head which goes away pretty fast tho. Notes of chocolate, some roasted malts, nice salty licorice which the aftertaste also has. Awesome smooth to drink. Also notes of burnt wood. Nice aftertaste with the burnt and chocolate and licorice.

Black with a huge compact medium brown head. Aroma: milk chocolate, dark chocolate, roasty, slight tart cherry note, creamy, smells really nice! Taste: big bitterness, light sweetness, roasted malts, slightly ashy, alot of chocolate, slightly sour, burnt. Nice one! I would have wished for a slightly fuller mouthfeel.

Bottle 50 cl, BBE 13.10.2012. Pours black in color with a beige head. Milk chocolate, some wooden notes and notes of salty licorice in aroma. Same salty licorice in taste accompanied with some light burnt wooden notes/ashes. Some dark berries as well in taste.

Bottle 0.5l at Pikkulintu, Helsinki. BBE 20121013. Colour is black with almost no head. Aromas and flavours: Strong licorice, chocolate, salt, hops and malts.

Bottle - 500ml. Opaque black body with low carbonation and a brown foamy/creamy head. Awesome, complex malty/hoppy aroma with bourbon, fruity, chocolate, and locorice hints. Its well balanced, robust taste carries roasty, licorice, plummy, and oaky notes. Ends with a long, strong bittersweet finish. Very well done!

Flaske delt med bryggerimester Ovesen: en liflig duft av dyr kaffe og enda dyrere mørk konfektsjokolade. Smaken er bitter, men holdes i sjakk av en diskret men fyldig sødme. Stoor munnfylde og laang ettersmak. Snop fra ende til annen!

Clear black colour, red hue. Beige dissipating head. Aroma of red fruits, chocolate, lots of coffee, malts and fresh coffee beans. Coffee flavour, roasted malts, hop bitter, quite mineral, light sour touch. Quite low carbonation. Mineral finish, roasted malts, chocolate milk, bitter coffee.

Aroma:chocolate and rosted malt... appearance:dark good beige head.. Flavor:chocolate-coffe,rosted malt.. not bad...

Bouteille de 500ml meilleure avant le 28-11-2013. La chance de boire une bière retirée encore en forme n’arrive pas souvent, voyons comment celle-ci se débrouille. Un bruit qui laisse penser à une forte dose de gaz carbonique. Le liquide est presque noir avec une mousse brune, bruyante qui s’estompe rapidement. Le premier nez est tout en alcool. Ensuite arrive des effluves de chocolat, de cerises et encore de l’alcool. La bouche est chaude, puissante avec des notes discordantes de poussière. La réglisse est très présente, il y a des notes fruitées de levure. Trop d’alcool pour vraiment être agréable.
