Fin porter, vackert svart och lagom tjock. Smak av salmiak och mörka chokladtoner. Doftar övervägande av choklad, men också kakao och kaffe. Avnjöts i sällskap av Marcus och Emmelie

Pretty remarkable beer. Has everything a porter has and what the label mentions: chocolate, coffee etc. Too bad it’s retired.... bottle from De Bierkoning, bought a while back, maybe more than six months ago.

Bottle. Black as can be, with a large, creamy, cinnamon colored head that leaves plenty of lacing. Aroma is initially dominated by coffee and sweet dark chocolate. Some burnt sourness, some earthy notes, some juicy dark fruits, some herbal, weed-like notes. Flavour is massive. Loads of coffee, with loads of sweet and bitter milk chocolate, with a berrylike acidity and fruitiness. It comes off as a little watery initially, before the massive coffee and chocolate kicks in. Long, bitter and almost sour finish, with notes of smoke. Fairly thick bodied, with creamy carb. This is definitely good stuff, and surprisingly drinkable.

Finn was kind to share a 500ml bottle of this one at a rating session in Tromsø. Bubbly, low, fawn-coloured head. Jet black body. Nice aromas of slightly roasted chocolate malts. The taste character brings anise, earthy malts, chocolate and dark fruits. Fresh and semi-tart ending. Surprisingly easy to drink, and easy to like, as well (Finns, Tromsø 22.09.2011).

from erzbierschof.ch - black beer with a little dark beige foam left; decently hoppy with notes of black cherries, chocolate and licorice; pretty roasted; a good malt backbone and with some fair sweetness; moderate carbonattion; a decent bitterness and long notes of licorice and chocolate in the finish

Looks like old engine oil. Black with a hint of brown, and very thick. Lots of chocolate coloured head. Scent of chocolate milk and coffee. Taste of red wine, alcohol, some coffee and some chocolate. Very bitter! Not my favourite.

Lovely aroma and taste of classic Porter-flavorings; dark roasted malt, chocolate, coffee and licorice. The taste is round and soft with hints of smoke and fruit. A wonderfully well made Porter!

Bottle, 8.0%. Fruity, peppery aroma, hint of vanilla and smoke. Black colour. Small dark brown head. The flavour starts off with a rather heavy barley bitterness and some hop bitterness as well. A little sweetness as well, but does not blance off the roasted and bitter notes. There seems to be a bit of smoke in the flavour as well, especially in the finish, and a weak aroma hop note also.
