Draught @ Carlsens Kvarter, Odense. This ain’t no local thing. This beer is world class. Pours black with a small creamy brown lasting head. Mocha, coffee bean, roast, liquorice, dried fruit and an ashy feel. Smooth and creamy palate. Dry roasted end. Dopeness.

Bottle, 50cl. Pours a pitch blach beer with a nice chocolatebrown head. The aroma is chocolate, licorice and roasted. The flavor is likewise chocolate, licorice and roasted with some additional bitterness. The palate is smooth and rounded with bitterness and roasted notes. Overall a fantastic beer with a great balance and complexity.

Black with a lasting, light brown head. Strong licorice aroma, with coffee and chocolate, some dried fruit, roasted malt and hints of ash and smoke. Sweetish thick licorice flavour with roasted notes. The licorice and sweetness could get a little cloying, but I say that on a warm August evening. The magic here is that the character really feels like a blend of the two breweries: De Molen smoothness and balance with Midtfyn house character fruitiness.
