English: The Double IPA is an American inspired, dark amber beer with a beautiful light coloured head. The brewer has chosen to dry hop this IPA which adds to the full and complex hop profile of Cascade, Chinook and Centennial. The IPA has a very full body, with a soft yet strong flavour and a very bitter finish - the result has to be experienced. Goes with spicy dishes, but is best enjoyed on its own.

UPDATED: MAY 31, 2009 Bottle. Pours muddy amber to brown with a decent white head. The aroma is of course hoppy but contains lots of caramel and toffee too. Notes of exotic fruit and grass is in my nose too. Flowers backing up the heavy amount of hops with a solid malt profile having peach, citrus, grape fruit and some spices to give it a almost perfect flavour for a DIPA. Nice work. Great brew.

A brownish IIPA with a lush, white head. The aroma is sweet and hoppy with notisable caramel and a typical amarican hop-nose. The flavour is pretty straight forward, with a rather solid malt profile, average amounts of citrus and flowery hops and a nice bitterness. It’s a bit atringent - seems as like they’ve used some very dark malts... Anyhow, this is far better than the last beer from this brewery i tasted a qouple of years back!

Nice beer overall, but somehow the alc. and hoppiness combines and becomes a taste i don’t like.. sort of burned old chilli-caramel like. Apart from this disturbing nuance, it’s a good beer. The same weird taste was found in their imp. stout, i wonder what it is.

Bottle. Nice head with good duration. Color is amber. Aroma and taste are rich with hops, but not as much as I had hoped for being a double IPA. Nice bitter finish.

UPDATED: AUG 26, 2008 Bottle at Kolding Ølmesse. Pours a dark golden, slightly hazy body with a beige head. As expected, the aroma and flavor is more pronounced than in their IPA, both on malts and hops. It’s citrusy and piney, as well as it has a caramel maltyness. The mouthfeel is full and warming, and the finish is long, bitter and hoppy. There’s also a touch of butterscotch in the beer, all the way, and that’s inappropriate. Nice beer though. Rating: 7-4-7-4-15-3.7. (080229)

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy orange-copper body with a decent beige head leaving lacings. Pinapple, citrus and pine in the aroma, along with a good sugary, beefstock-like, caramel maltyness. Sweet in the mouth too, perhaps a bit too sugary, but there’s enough bitterness to give it some balance, and enough carbonation to mellow it. Pine, tropical fruit, caramel and a little bready note too. Full body, quite warming. Long, malty and bitter finish with an alcohol bite. I’m not really sure about this one. I think it deserves a higher rating than I gave it the first time, but on the other hand, it’s a bit sweet and warm. It’s one of those beers that I wish I could give a 7.5 on both aroma and flavor. Ended up lifting it only 0.1 point on the overall. (080826)
