English: The Double IPA is an American inspired, dark amber beer with a beautiful light coloured head. The brewer has chosen to dry hop this IPA which adds to the full and complex hop profile of Cascade, Chinook and Centennial. The IPA has a very full body, with a soft yet strong flavour and a very bitter finish - the result has to be experienced. Goes with spicy dishes, but is best enjoyed on its own.

Hazy red-brown-golden with a huge, creamy head. The aroma has notes of spruce, caramel and citrus - nicely hopped. The flavour has a nice solid caramel base and a full hoppyness with a nice bitterness and notes of spruce, grass and citrus. The finish is a tad out of balance, I think the resin stands too alone. But the overall impression is very nice.

(Bottled) Clear, dark reddish brown with a smallish, but lasting and lacy head. Strongly aromatic-hoppy aroma with some alcohol presence. Quite complex and aromatic, exotic-fruity flavor with a bitter finish. Alcohol is completely hidden. Medium to full-bodied, slicky-sticky and quite low-carbonated palate. A very nice and enjoyable brew, reminds me quite a bit of NBE. Yeasty part is a bit ashy, and hides the complexity of the hop profile - so better leave it out.

Bottle. Amber colour with a little nice head. Aroma of hops, maltness and little grassy. A lot of hops in the flavour, with high alpha hops, very nice hoppy, but not so bitter than you may expect,

[Bottle from Vinens Verden sampled with the Swamp-lovers.] Mmmmm, real nice experience. Hazymud light brown/orange look with weak head. Notes of grass, flowers, pine, great weak alcoholtaste, citrusgrapes, sweetness and a wonderful hoppyness.

Bottle at Ølbaren. Pours a nice clear mahogny colour with a medium beige head. Aroma of fruity hops, pine some alcohol and toasted malt. The flavour is sweet and hoppy with caramel, pine, fruits and slight alcohol. Fruity and hoppy dry sweetish finish. The alcohol is well hidden in this brew with an IBU of 119. I thank the owner of Midtfyns Bryghus (Eddie) for offering this to me, ToolHead and other around us.

UPDATED: NOV 4, 2007 Bottle, 50cl. The beer is dark amber and reddish. The head is white and draws fine curtains. Aroma is clearly american hops, fills the nose and gives a very good first impression. The flavor follows the aroma. It has a complex and very balanced flavor. Flavors are hops and malts, with notes of caramel. Very good mouthfeel, that makes it very drinkable. Overall a very good american double IPA.
