English: The Double IPA is an American inspired, dark amber beer with a beautiful light coloured head. The brewer has chosen to dry hop this IPA which adds to the full and complex hop profile of Cascade, Chinook and Centennial. The IPA has a very full body, with a soft yet strong flavour and a very bitter finish - the result has to be experienced. Goes with spicy dishes, but is best enjoyed on its own.

In short: A very sweet, very boozy, very resinous-hoppy copper ale. Ok sipper, not much of an IPA.
How: Bottle 500ml, consumed one year before expiration date.
The look: Medium cloudy copper body topped by a medium beige head.
In long: Nose is hops resin, cooked caramel, alcohol heat, some baked fruits. Taste is loaded with sweetness, rich caramelized malts, toffee, a burning alcohol sensation, candied oranges, notes of sticky hops resin with a coniferous character. Bitter finish with a bothersome alcohol bite. Very rich, heavy, too heavy. The alcohol hides some of the sweetness but I’d prefer the sweetness over the alcohol burn. If you expect a typical Double IPA you’re in for a disappointment, if you think of it like some kind of European lamer version of SN Bigfoot then it doesn’t seem so bad. Drinkability was too low for me to give this a high score and it was too boozy. Not a bad beer but when I see IPA in a beer name I expect an IPA style beer and not a sweet boozy beer, so now I am mad, I haven’t been this mad since I bought a box of Pop Tarts that were not even a bit tart, next time I’m suing someone.

A bit too heavy level of bitterness maybe? Surprisingly "danish" taste. Not so exciting aroma as other double-ipas, but a lot of "cold" and sharp bitterness that sends your thoughts to basements, the age of the vikings and wet wood. Maybe you should try this one while watching an episode of Game of Thrones...?
