COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: The Double IPA is an American inspired, dark amber beer with a beautiful light coloured head. The brewer has chosen to dry hop this IPA which adds to the full and complex hop profile of Cascade, Chinook and Centennial. The IPA has a very full body, with a soft yet strong flavour and a very bitter finish - the result has to be experienced. Goes with spicy dishes, but is best enjoyed on its own.

God dobbel IPA, men blir nok ingen favoritt.

Slight opaque dark orange, tan lasting lacing foam. Strong hoppy aroma, even more bitter in taste. Light sunflower and coffee notes. Good beer, thanks Jan. (Velp 201507)

[7175-20150320] Tap. Fragrant fruity grains and orange peel aroma. Clear, orange body with a quick foamy white head. Bitter orange grainy flavour. Medium body is a little boozy. Good, quite hoppy. (7/3/7/3/14) 3.4

Bottle from the LCBO. Copper-amber body with a thin white head and a good number of floaties. Aroma is quite malty, with a nice sweet barley candy character, a bit of pine resin, slightly bruised orange, and something I couldn’t quite place until I skimmed some previous ratings and saw a mention of olives - specifically, dried kalamatas. There’s also a hint of rye in some sniffs, but not in others. The flavour has a very strange progression - early in the glass, it’s a malt bomb, with the hops struggling to be noticed through the notes of caramel and honey and sweet fruit cocktail. But then at some point, a switch gets hit, and the sharp hops kick in with big bitter citrus and herbal pine notes. The finish is warm, but not as much as you’d expect from a 9.2% beer. In the end, it’s not a bad beer, but I don’t think all the elements come together as well as they should.

A big and very malty dipa. Boat loads of Sweet caramel and a bready malts. Lots of toasted sweet malts, and subtle nuts. Huge sticky resinous pine hop presence, and pretty much zero citrus. Oily mouth feel, regular carb. The finish is medium to high on bitterness and a slightly soapy, pine resin finish with some boozy bready malts.

Deep amber pour. The aroma is quite resinous and a little bit boozy. Has a softly sweet malt profile as well as a touch of black pepper. There is a touch of sweetness and a little bit of light toasted malt. Moderately sweet but there is a nice hoppiness. The hops have faded but it’s still a lovely brew.

pours cloudy if not murky very dark golden orange withh a small off-white cap, minimal retention and lacing. leafy and spicy oranges, strong olive aroma - kalamatas, lots of resin and pine - harsh, tingling/stinging booze - peppery, spicy caramel - doughy yet never quite sweet, some mint and other spices. light carbonation, medium body - oily; fairly dry and harsh spicy-peppery-piney finish. nasty.

The beer pours a hazed reddish gold colour with a thin bubbly off-white head. The aroma is citrus, grass, and tropical fruit. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is grapefruit, oranges, caramel, and grass.

500ml bottle. Clear light copper body, medium beige head, ok retention, tons of lacing. Aroma of rye bread, malt caramel, rotten fruits, honey and corn. Taste is aggressively hoppy: wormwood, herbs, a touch of orange candies, malt. Too aggressive, not a lot of flavour.
