4.8 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
My favourite double indian pale ale! Huge and multicolored hop aroma, strong, but not killer bitterness, and impenetrable consistence.
Without distourbing things...

4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Nice fruity aroma packed with well balanced hops. Clear amber with large long lasting creamy head. The taste is slightly bitter from the hops but still a lot of sweetness. Full bodied, oily texture, lively carbonation with long finish.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: NOV 4, 2007 Bottle, 50cl. The beer is dark amber and reddish. The head is white and draws fine curtains. Aroma is clearly american hops, fills the nose and gives a very good first impression. The flavor follows the aroma. It has a complex and very balanced flavor. Flavors are hops and malts, with notes of caramel. Very good mouthfeel, that makes it very drinkable. Overall a very good american double IPA.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Amber with a big off-white head. Big American hop aroma, with grapefruit, peach and pine. The bitterness comes through perfectly balanced by a malty sweetness, but without ever getting cloying. Both bite and hop flavour in the finish.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Umm I like this. Amber color with large light brown head. The aroma i heavy with citrus and a faint touch of nuts. The taste is dominated with cascade and chinook adding to the citrus and giving a long lasting heavy taste.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Deep amber body with small and quickly vanishing head. Then again, can’t expect a lively palate on a double IPA like this. Beautiful, deep amber color. Deep also are the hop tones my nose is getting; half grassy, half fruity, all hops. Compact. First sip gives away a small, boozy warmth at first. Then, it slowly slides into a nice cough syrup-like mix of wild strawberries, cherry, vanilla and toffee. Slightly bitter finish, but not too much. Complex and well-blended, this is a beer which calls upon retrospective on my behalf: I drank this half a year ago and had trouble finishing it; the hop bitterness was to harsh to handle. And so, I dismissed this rather well-crafted brew, only returning the the hoppy world of the IPA many months later. Now, however, after vigorous taste bud training, I seem to have overcome this obstacle to accessing the real taste. Which Midtfyn Bryghus Double IPA has a lot of. I must have come a long way, then. :-)

Bottle (50cl) from Vinmonopolet (Oslo City), Oslo. Clear, dark reddish amber colour. Inch-thick offwhite head, settling as a foam island with nice lacings covering the glass. Rich hoppy aroma with grapefruit, pine and butterscotch. Medium/full body, average/soft carbonation. Pleasant syrupy viscosity. Great balance between alcohol sweetness and hop bitterness. Long-lasting sweetish hoppy aftertaste. A very nice DIPA.
