3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Gently hazy dark amber ale covered by an everlasting white cover, endurant indeed for a beer of this size. Intense aroma feels as malty as it is hoppy. While the dry-hopping has faded more than a little, there remains plenty of floral, citrusy, oily resin aromas. On parallel, estery fruits and butterscotchy diacetyl fit nicely in, hinting at upcoming sugariness worthy of any English Barley Wine. In mouth though, it is not as simple. The resinous hop character is strong enough to greatly attenuate the sweetness sensation, that’s almost a miracle considering the initial fruit candy and caramel attack. Despite being probably almost a year old, it maintains a certain freshness, hops have been preserved nicely enough and their bitterness certainly is all there, cutting through the malt’s toastiness swiftly. Round and almost suave mouthfeel. Very malty, even by Danish double IPA standards, but that may be why I enjoy them , when crossing the Atlantic, they just can’t compete with fresh IPAs that have not suffered the same travels. Might as well make them different and more complex in their own right.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Dark golden color. Thick body and intense aroma. Not the hoppiest beer out there, but a solid DIPA. Had several beers from this brewery, none was amazing, but still all of them equally good

Fruits, hay, caramel and some citrus in the aroma. Amber with a off-white head. Medium to heavy sweet and medium to heavy bitter. Full body with a soft carbonation. Overall a rich DIPA with lots of flavours and warming alcohol in the back, nice.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from Omegn, Torvenhallerne, Copenhagen, DK. Pours unclear dark amber with a small fizzy, tan yellow-ish head leaving some lace. The nose has a lot of hops and some fruits, in the mouth it is grassy, with some pine, a bit of grapefruit. Solid bitterness balanced with a strong sweet malt base. Maybe a bit too sweet, as often with iipas. Smooth sticky-syrupy palate, very drinkable despite the high alcohol content (that doesn’t really show up).

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
"I dig the sweetness and the fruit in the nose and the flavor. It is a little too malt heavy for my liking but for a malt heavy double it’s quite nice and easy to drink. Medium bodied and slightly sticky. A bit dark for anything called a pale."
