English: The Double IPA is an American inspired, dark amber beer with a beautiful light coloured head. The brewer has chosen to dry hop this IPA which adds to the full and complex hop profile of Cascade, Chinook and Centennial. The IPA has a very full body, with a soft yet strong flavour and a very bitter finish - the result has to be experienced. Goes with spicy dishes, but is best enjoyed on its own.

Gently hazy dark amber ale covered by an everlasting white cover, endurant indeed for a beer of this size. Intense aroma feels as malty as it is hoppy. While the dry-hopping has faded more than a little, there remains plenty of floral, citrusy, oily resin aromas. On parallel, estery fruits and butterscotchy diacetyl fit nicely in, hinting at upcoming sugariness worthy of any English Barley Wine. In mouth though, it is not as simple. The resinous hop character is strong enough to greatly attenuate the sweetness sensation, that’s almost a miracle considering the initial fruit candy and caramel attack. Despite being probably almost a year old, it maintains a certain freshness, hops have been preserved nicely enough and their bitterness certainly is all there, cutting through the malt’s toastiness swiftly. Round and almost suave mouthfeel. Very malty, even by Danish double IPA standards, but that may be why I enjoy them , when crossing the Atlantic, they just can’t compete with fresh IPAs that have not suffered the same travels. Might as well make them different and more complex in their own right.

50 cl bottle from Bieropholie, shared, served cool in a tulip glass. Strong treacle and dark caramel malt, pine, resin and green peppercorn hops, quite dank and dark. Medium body and restrained carbonation. Like the nose, plenty of dark maltiness and resinous, dank hops; off-dry with pretty good bitterness and a resinous, peppery finish. Fairly drinkable for the abv.

Bottle. Pours opaque reddish amber with medium withe head. Aroma is orange, grapefruit, mandarin, resin, spruce, yoghurt, caramel and brown sugar. Taste is medium sweet, medium to heavy bitter and light acidic. Body is oily with fizzy carbonation. Finish is long and medium bitter with notes of citrus, spruce, resin, caramel, toffee, nuts, grape seeds, appels and faint hints of salty licorice. Good balance.

Ar: fruit candy, grapefruit, resin, caramel, citrus, bread, alcohol, hops is evident, but one-dimensional. Ap: amber colour, medium off-white head, lacing. T: big bite, mid-sweet, grapefruity, caramely, resinous, not a lot of tropical fruits but packs a solid punch, alcohol evident, but not overpowering. P: fullbodied, soft carbonation, big bitter finish that is also warming. O: potent!

Cloudy amber body with a thin off-white creamy head. Fresh hoppy aroma with melon, grapefruit, and oaky hints. Alcohol is well hidden. Its sharp hoppy taste carries citrusy, oaky, and some subtle yeasty notes. Ends with a robust, long bitter finish.

Flot mørkgylden øl med fyldig hvidt hoved. Aromaen er meget mild. Smagen er derimod anderledes voldsom udspændt mellem en stærk sødme og bredspektret bitterhed, som modvirker hinanden. I eftersmagen vinder bitterheden. En øloplevelse som kan anbefales. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap@mitm. Amber hazy. Murky malts, old raisins.. Some grainyness. Full bitter body. Sweetness. Can’t find much to make me drink the rest of the sampler. Ok, it has good bitters to balance the abv, but flavour-wise dull, borig.
