3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
500 ml bottle. BB 09/07/2014. From bierkompass.de.
Black colour with a small tan head.
Sourness, ash, roasted malt and some hoppy bitterness in the aroma.
Hoppy bitterness, roasted malt and ashy notes in a strong and harsh flavour. This more like well hopped Imperial Stout and a real Black IPA. Rather tasty though.

500ml bottle @ cabin. Ordered from Bierzwerg. Nice surprice, I remembered that this was normal Indian Pale Ale. When pouring to glass, thought that pretty black colour ;-) I havent tasted any bad beer from Midtfyns.. This is also very good. Not too ’burned’.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
50 cl bottle. BBE 09.07.2014.
Pours clear dark copper-red, almost black color with a medium sized off-white head. Aroma is quite caramelly and a bit syrupy, some resiny hops and vanilla-infused roasted malts follow, very faint dark berry notes on the background. A very pleasant and interesting aroma. The creamy and smooth palate is a bit surprising though. Roasted malts and vanilla are up front on the flavor, some oily hops and sweet caramel follow with somewhat milky chocolaty finish. Low to medium carbonation, full-bodied, sweetish chocolaty aftertaste. Alcohol is extremely well hidden. Very good but maybe a bit too soft hop-wise.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
500 ml bottle.
Pours a black colour with a small, thick, white creamy head. Aroma of strong roasted malts, licorice root, tobacco and grass. Flavour of strong roasted malts, licorice, biscuit, floral notes, dark chocolate, espresso, grapefruit and some caramel sweetness. Full bodied, thick mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Really smooth and lingering bitter finish with strong floral bitterness, chocolate and biscuit. Towards the end the bitterness gets stronger and stronger. Alcohol warms only a little. Not too aggressive but still has a nice hop profile and loads of fruity sweetness with different roasty flavours as well.
