3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottled. Very dark, milk chocolate head.
Spicy aroma, but the aniseed is a bit overpowering considering the rather smooth stout base. Coffee, chocolate.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
0.5l bottle. This one pours a dark dark brown body with a nice quite big and heavy lacing tan head. The aroma is light spicy with lots of chocolate milk, some roasted malts, hops and licorice. Quite nice. Average carbonated with a medium-bodied and oily mouthfeel. Good and hoppy flavors nicely blended with chocolate, roasted malts and some nice hints of both licorice and wood. Ends quite bitter and hoppy before its leaving the mouth quite dry with a nice roasted aftertaste. Good stuff!

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Texture is very creamy in this brew, taste and aroma is chocolatey, but it isn’t all that sweet, due to a generous amount of hops. Finish is actually quite bitter, at least when the beer has warmed up. Dark brown colour, head is medium sized, mostly diminishing, and of brown colour. (Bottle)

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle shared with friends at Amundsen
Pours quite dark, turns black in glass with thin espresso laces. Smells funky, there is fennel and anis with the dark malt aromas. Taste is malty with a distinct chocolate tone. This beer is really unbalanced and i can’t work it out. The bitter finish is absolutely the best part of this beer

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
500 ml bottle. Pitch black. Not able to see through it. Tall coarse light beige head. Light spicy aroma with licorice and fennel. Soft roasted malty aroma. Crisp peppery bite from sharp hops and roaste malts. Some residual sugars left, and those cut through the bitternss nicely leaving a beer that feels nice and is drinkable. Definitely spicy, but also with a little ash. Finishes with a stinging and refreshing bitterness. Not bad, but not favourite either.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Big shiny beige lasting head. Deep dark red barely translucent body. Earthy fruity meaty aroma with dusty herbal notes. Dry-sweet herbal earthy cocoa taste with fennel notes. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Fullish body. Sweetish herbal funnel cocoa aftertaste with buttery licorice and coffee notes. Not bad, and fairly harmonic, but weird. (0.5l bottle, wine monopoly Vika, Oslo.)
