Danish: Mørk, næsten sort stout med et flot og cremefarvet skum. En stout med stor fylde, krydret med stjerneanis og fennikelfrø. En sprød lækker jule stout - som du aldrig har fået den før.

English: A dark, almost black stout with a beautiful cream coloured head. A rich stout, spiced with aniseed and fennel seed. A delicious Christmas Stout - like you have never seen it before.

En 2009:a lagrad ett år. Drucken 2010 års julölprovning. Väldigt fin och välbalanserad stout. Krämig chokladfondant, lätt rostad, lagrad lätt portvinsaktig ton av mörka torkade frukter.

Bottle @ Kitty’s, Helsinki. Deep ruby beer, almost black. Creamy beige head, nice lace. Sweet, caramelly aroma with some berry jam. Roasted malts, some smoke. Obvious spiviness: fennel, possibly also aniseed and licorice. Some plums and a dash of herbal hops. Somewhat caramelly taste, still lacking some deeper malt flavors. Bitterish finish is somehow rough. Medium bodied, smooth texture.

(Bottle at Pikkulintu) The beer poured black. Its head was quite large and light brown. Aroma was roasty and spicy. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were roastedness, mildly spiciness, burnt malts and medium bitterness. Aftertaste was roasty and bitter. Fitting combination of spices and beer.

6 Slight choco milk aroma. Quite mellow slightly bocky malts.
5 Black, full head
7+ Retronasals quite liquoricy. Very rich roasty body. Potent enough to keep the alcohol well in check.
4+ Very full body. Smooth. Carbonation gentle. Finish again liquoricey.
14+ Midtfyns can do such brilliant stouts, I was almost disappointed by this - it’s only very good.

Bottled 500ml @Beer Hunters (BB 08/2012)
Dark opaque black color, small steady beige head, lace. Milky, roasted malty aroma. Medium-bodied. Flavor is also malty, coffeish with some burned malts. Kind of unbalanced and a bit too burned/harsh.

0.5L bottle from Vinmonopolet, Vika. Big, dense and lasting latte head leaving fine laces. Body is very dark ruby brown with good clarity. Rounded roasty malt aroma with a fruity touch. Subtle spices, suggestions of sweet licorice and mocha. Much of the same flavorwise. Some earthy bittering hops in addition, and a note of berry-ish fruitiness. Medium to full body. Complex and balanced, with the spices well integrated. Nice all over!

Bottle. Pours a pitch black body with a thick, creamy white head for the crown; this beer looks great! :-) Aroma is black currants, dark chocolate and leather, with hints of caramel-ish goat cheese similar to the traditional Norwegian cheese "brunost". Taste is very similar, but with an additional leathery, dusty mellow licorice-like bitterness which I ascribe to the spices at work; hard to put one’s finger on exactly what’s going on here. Full bodied. A well-made stout, though not an instant classic by any means.

400ml draught, served chilled at Carlsens Kvarter. The content is black as the devil and with two patches on a shiny surface. Slightly roasted dark malts to the nose. Flavoured with spiced malts along with hints of coffee and dark mid-bitter fruits. Well bodied and good mouth feel. Fine Yuletide spirits in this one (Odense, 10.11.2010).

500 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 7.6%. Black colour, huge tan head. Moderate but nice aroma of mild coffee with just a hint of aniseed. Nice and full mouthfeel, medium sweet, roasty notes of coffee and dark chocolate, also moderate notes of aniseed and fennel seeds. Okay.
