Danish: Mørk, næsten sort stout med et flot og cremefarvet skum. En stout med stor fylde, krydret med stjerneanis og fennikelfrø. En sprød lækker jule stout - som du aldrig har fået den før.

English: A dark, almost black stout with a beautiful cream coloured head. A rich stout, spiced with aniseed and fennel seed. A delicious Christmas Stout - like you have never seen it before.

Sample at SBWF 2012. Black with a small tan head. A lot of spices both in the aroma and taste. Licorice, malt, fruit, some notes of ash, fennel. Rather cool and interesting.

Bottle. Dark brown body, lighter brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, berries and cinnamon. Taste of coffee, chocolate and more christmas spices (clove?), with yeast and nuts. A good take. Good body and balance, lasting herbal finish.

Very dark brown beer. Milky sweet malt nose. Slightly soft palate. Flavour follows the nose with milky sweet malt. Finishes dry with just a hint of toastiness in the finish. Nice.

Bottle of 50 cl. Black beer with a medium creamy light brown head of good duration. Aroma of hard toasted and roasted malt with notes of licorice, chocolate and caramel. Taste sweetish and distinctly bitter roasted malt. Notes of chocolate, licorice and stjerneannis felt. A long dry and bitter aftertaste

Black with brown head - aroma of roasted malt - good malt body with roasted malt taste, along with some sweetness in the back that may be from spices - long lingering finish with notes of roated malt bitterness - this was nice

500 ml bottle. Dark amber, practical black, with a fine, thick, lasting beige creamy head. Aroma is chocolate, soft roasted malt, nutty and hint of fruits. Flavor is soft, smooth malt, sweet milk chokolate, gently roasted, coffee, balanced bitterness and hint of fruit. Fine body, long and tasty malt and bitter aftertaste. Smooth and balanced, what I fine Christmas brew. Goes well down any other time of the tear as well.

Bottle. Pours a pretty darn black brew, with an inch of creamy, light-brown head. The head sinks slowly, leaving lots of lacing. In the nose I get mainly dark malts and fresh grains, and some dark fruits. Full mouthfeel, soft carbonation. In the flavor I get dark malt, coffee, licorice. The promised aniseed and fennel seeds are there, but not very prominent. Or perhaps I should say they’re well-integrated. They don’t leap out at you, but they’re definitely there. Quite bitter, almost on the edge of astringent. Earthy finish.

As I continue drinking it, I sense that there’s something strange about this beer, I think it’s the spices, and that 0,5 liters was too much for me alone.
