3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
500 ml bottle. Aroma of dried fruits, alcohol, roasted. Taste: dark fruits and dark sugars, alcohol, roasted malt, sweetness that reminds of rotten fruits. Aniseed gives a very pecuiliar liquorice-like taste, plus a kind of numbin sensation on the tongue

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Well a really good Stout. Maybe a little weak in flavor. And even the smell was a bit weak. But good to drink with a bad aftertaste. But I give it a good rating because it was really good. Mild beer to drink.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle (500 ml). Black with a huge quickly diminishing brown head and intense lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, liquorice, caramel... quite interesting! Taste is moderately sweet with caramel, liquorice, roasted malt and chocolate. Finish is quite bitter (from roasted malt and chocolate I think) and slight acidic. Medium body (though on the heavy side for a regular Stout). Dry. Another really pleasant beer by Midtfyns Bryghus! Good balance and enjoyable!

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Dark brown, but looks black in the glass, light brown head, some lacing.
Aroma: lots of spices, but which? Fennel is easy to pick out. Also some chocolate and licorice.
Taste: chocolate, licorice, fennel, aniseed and other spices, roasted, some honey. Lots of spices, but they don’t really take over.
Medium bodied, smooth.
Interesting, and not bad at all.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 16/20
A beautiful smell of licorice is what meets me at first. the head is perfect with a caramel color. Pure black. a little to strong licorice taste for my part at the beginning but eases of with a mild taste of caramel. it has a nice bitter ending, that fits with the early licorice. Nice one!

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Smells like expensive chocolate, appears black, with a firm tan head. Tastes bitter-sweet, I get coffee and chocolate. A nice long slightly bitter finish.
Simply one of the best stouts I have had - not much christmas about it though.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pour likes tar. High head, not creamy though. Smell of smoke and christmas trees. Fennel is dominating the flavor, feels like drinking sweet licorice with hops. Not my favourite but I’ve seen worse.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a pitch black body with a large, creamy, light-brown body that stays thick for a very long time before reducing to a fully lasting layer that leaves lots of foam on the glass. A perfect looking beer! The aroma is very inviting and strong, with heavy roasted notes, dark caramel, coffee, chocolate, fruits and some alcohol and earthy notes in the back. I actually don’t get any particular spicy aromas. The taste is moderate sweet with a heavy bitter finish that feels a bit sharp, stingy and herbal the first few sips, but still lovely. The finish is everlasting with extreme amounts of coffee. Dark roasted flavours with chocolate in the back and quite obvious alcohol. After a while I start noticing the subtle christmas spices. The spices are extremely well integrated and difficult to pinpoint, but they really add an extra layer to this wonderful stout. One of the best christmas beers available in Norway?
