Flavour is chocolaty and cocoaish. Has a touch of roast, light coffee and liqourice. Medium bodied. Very dry. Has a roasty and spiced bitterness in the end. Quite easy to drink.

500 ml bottle purchased @ Julio’s Liquors. This bottled was cellared since November. Inky black color without any head to speak of. Nose is chocolate, ash and licorice.Taste is heading more towards a Porter than a stout but still good. Anise, roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, and some hops. Finish is lots of dry roast and is medium bodied. The holiday spice shows in the finish as well. Easy enough to drink and delivers what you would expect.

Bouteille 500 ml. Robe noire, surmontée d’un épais collet blanc-beige. Arôme et goût de vanille, de malt torréfié et de chocolat. Ronde en bouche. Petite pointe d’acidité. Excellente bière.

Bottle, 50 cl, bought at discounted price. Clear reddish brown with a small beige head. Malty ryebread, slightly burned, syrup and - sweet anise. Who the fuck introduced star anise to beer? As usual it overpowers the flavor with a spicy, strong harsh woody note. Light bitter finish. Tungen ud af vinduet, as we say in Danish. Never ever again.

Bottle - 500ml. Very dark brown body with low carbonation and an average beige foamy head. Nice, rich malty/hoppy aroma with roasty, coffeeish, plummy, and brown sugar hints. Its sharp malty/hoppy taste carries roasted coffee, licorice, and some subtle chocolate notes. Ends with a long, warming bitter/roasty finish. Enjoyable.

Pours black with nice fluffy brown head.
Was cheap as hell, so i didn’t expect much, but surprise!
Sweet notes and burned malts. i smell the aniseed too. Little smoked taste with some burned sugar. A little bit dark chocolate as well. But man, the palate is nice! Fluffy, yet intense. The beer and the head almost melts together. This rating might be manipulated by just waking up and being in a good mood.

UPDATED: FEB 17, 2013 Kaatuu lasiin lähes mustana, hieman reunalta valoa läpäisevänä, ja muhkealla, kolmen sormen paksuisella vaahdolla. Vahvaa pitsiäkin jää lasin reunalle. Haju on paahteinen ja kahvinen, maidolla höystettynä. Lakritsia, anista ja hedelmäisyyttäkin löytyy. Kahvisuus kuitenkin hallitsevana osana. Maku on hyvin paahteinen, mutta sen lisäksi hyvin monipuolinen: hedelmää, maitokahvia, suklaata,ansita ja lakritsiakin löytyy. Anis tuntuu joka siemauksella vahvemmalta. Suutuntuma on reilusti humaloitu, mutta sen lisäksi yllättävänkin ohut. Maistuva ja monipuolinen stout, hieman vähemmän kahvisuutta, niin puhuttaisiin loistotuotteesta.

Bottle from Systembolaget. Lots of liquorice on the nose. Taste of roasted bread and coffee and lots of liquorice. I have a hard time with liquorice in beer, but at least I could drink it.
