On bottle at Beer 13 festival in Oslo 19/04/13. Pours a dark colour, almost black with a tan head. Aroma of strong licorice and tobacco, together with a quite sweet smell. Flavour is much licorice, a bit too much for me, notes of tobacco, candysugar, leaves and some leather. A bit bitterness in the finish. Medium body with low carbonation. Overall, this was a bit too much licorice for me, but it’s a good beer in small portions imo. Interesenting to try though!

Tasted in a tulip glass.
Brown color.Medium carbonation and foam .Aroma of malt and dried fruits.Taste is malty and very enjoyable.

50cl bottle at Vulkan ølfestival. Dark brown with a small, beige head. Malty aroma with raisins, caramel, licorice and hints of alcohol. Sweet and malty with a mild licorice flavour and a lightly bitter finish. Quite pleasant, but a bit too sweet. (2012-10-03)

Quite intense malty aromas, dried fruits- high aroma intensity.
Full body & high complexity .
Immediate sweetness, good balance.

Stockholm Beer 2012: Mycket lenare än den första versionen. Stor trocadero-ton och inte alls lika god som ettan. Den stora söta tjäran och de kompleksa tonerna är helt borta.

Dark brown with a small head. Salmiak, spices, some caramel and malt. Also wood and some sour notes. Not as "complex" as expected.

150212: Almost all black strong ale with a very dominant licorice flavor and fragrance.

Bottle at Grünerløkka Mat- og Mikrobrygg Festival 2012. Dark body, big beige head. Aroma of licorice (plenty!), roasted malt, raisins. Taste of salt licorice, spices, caramel. A very interesting rich taste. Long dry salt and bitter finish.

Dark with a small tan head. Heavy raisin aroma, alcohol, caramel, exhaust and dates. Taste is malty with loads of dates and raisins. Alcohol warms pleasantly. Full to medium body with soft carb

500 ml bottle @ Patricks. A black body with a small beige head. Aroma has dark malt, dry fruit and liquorices. Flavor is sweet and tastes like expected from aroma, very nice and a bit warming from alcohol. Fine body and a good aftertaste. Nice one.
