COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

50 cl bottle @ Tampella, BBE 21.01.2015
Aroma has roasted malt and some cocoa – feels like a German dunkel. Perhaps also some licorice. Flavour has licorice, berries, roasted malt and woody tones. Some chili tones here too. Palate is a bit too high on CO2. Still feels like dunkel, what is the snuff or Belgian here? Too sweet anyway.

500 ml bottle, thanks olio. Pours a dark brown colour with a small head. Aroma of sweet apricot, grass and bread. Sweet flavour of toasted malts, yeast, bread, licorice, salt and some bitterness. Light bodied, slick mouthfeel and a dry, fruity, sweet finish. Can’t locate the snuff.

Bottle. Pours dark reddish brown with medium light brown head. Aroma is heavily roasted malt, burnt sugar, caramel, overripe fermenting fruit, dark syrup and some chocolate. Taste is medium sweet, light acidic and light bitter. Body is oily with good carbonation. Finish is long with notes of roast, roasted malt, burnt sugar, caramel, chocolate, coffee, wine and alcohol. Rich and indeed rough!

Medium beige head. Clear deep dark red body, pretty much like Coke. Earthy fruity spicy aroma with bubblegum notes. Sweet-dryish earthy dried fruit taste with bubblegum and spice notes. Full-bodied. Sharpish, fairly hot mouthfeel. Dryish earthy licorice and spice aftertaste with roasty dried fruit notes. Nice, drinkable, perhaps a bit strong and dense. (0.5l bottle, from Fish & Beer, Copenhagen.)

Appearance: Black color with a tan head that leaves some lacing.
Aroma: Bubble gum and dark malt.
Palate: Medium + body. Mild round sweetness, and a moderate bitterness. Average to soft carbonation. Oily texture.
Taste: Bubblegum, licorice and chocolate. Well hidden alcohol.
Overall impression: Mamma mia this was weird.
Personal stats: Bottle Gundersen brought with him from summer camp 2013 in Denmark.

On bottle at Beer 13 festival in Oslo 19/04/13. Pours a dark colour, almost black with a tan head. Aroma of strong licorice and tobacco, together with a quite sweet smell. Flavour is much licorice, a bit too much for me, notes of tobacco, candysugar, leaves and some leather. A bit bitterness in the finish. Medium body with low carbonation. Overall, this was a bit too much licorice for me, but it’s a good beer in small portions imo. Interesenting to try though!
