Clear dark black brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, licorice - anis seed - anis, tobacco notes, light hoppy. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, spicy, belgium yeast, anis. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20110526]

Bottled. A dark brown beer with a lazing brown head. The aroma has noes of caramel, tobacco, liqurice, and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, lots of liqurice, alcohol, and sirup, leading to a dry alcoholic finish.

From tap. Pours dark brown to black with a small tan head. Aroma is spiced with annis seed, dark roasted malt and chocolate. Bitter, roasted and dry liqourice. Bitter and towards a herbal finish.

On tap. Pours a clear orangey brown with a small off-white head. Sweet nutty aroma, dark overripe fruit and tobacco. Solid body, again very tobaccoish, dark fruits and a little Belgian yeast and licorice. No real bitterness. Actually very sophisticated and rich. 260511

Draught@CPH BF 2011. Black colour, not much head. Aroma is bigtime liquorice, some mint/anis as well as mild roasted and caramelly notes. Flavour is much the same. The original with real snuff was so much better.

Fruity and light roasted aroma of liquorice and tobacco.
Fruity and light roasted flavour of caramel and liquorice with notes of dried fruits and tobacco.
Fruity finish.

Draught at Københavnske Øldage 2011.Near black, small head. Powerfularoma of raisins and tobacco, esters and coffee.Really sweet with full body and well rounded mouthfeel. Packed with complex flavours. Licorice and dates, aniseed and madeira. Warming finish with balanced bitterness. Exceptional!

Draft @ Copenhagen Beer Festival 2011. Pours a black color with a small off-white head. Has a slightly roasted malty spicy aroma with hints of yeast. Fruity malty spicy yeasty dark fruit flavor. Has a fruity malty spicy dark fruit finish.

KØ11. Clear dark brown colour. Small stable light brown head. Distinct anis aroma. Good sweet flavour, nicely balanced by sweetness. Some spicy notes, liquorice and more. A bit of a mess, but I like it.
