Bottle. Clear-looking, dark brown body with a reddish hue. The head is tan and creamy, and leaves nice lacings as the beer is consumed. The aroma is slightly sour, with lots of roasted malt and coffee like scents. Surprisingly thin body for a 7.2% ABV stout, but there’s also a sweetish feeling. Flavorwise, it has burnt malt, a little fruity note, a pleasant oxidation in the background, and a coffee-like bitterness. Licorice too. The finish is long, with bitterness, mostly coffee-like bitterness, some licorice, and dried fruits. A little warming touch from the alcohol too. The beer is a bit "different" but quite nice. Not too drinkable though. But I like it... (071114)

Bottle. Black. This was a surprise. It has a round good mouthfeel. It´s well ballanced between the chocolat malty touch and the somewhat bitter hopy feel.

Sampled at Chris_O’s Shindig; Aug. 2007: Coffee, anise, whiskey aroma; roasty edge; flavor doesn’t follow; a little dry and dusty; creosote note. Pretty good overall.
