Bottled (backlog). Rubyish brown colour with some haze to it. Not all too much head. Aroma is a bunch of spices, alcohol, some sweet malts, liquorice and a bit floral and ripe fruity notes. Flavour is liquorice, spices, some sweet malts, nice floral and ripe fruity notes as well as some slight notes of berries as well. Quite a thick brew, which makes it a nice sipper.

Past BB Date. Trade with SfhOdense. Pours dark muddy brown with a small creamy white head. Nose is oxidized. Cellar and dust. Beneath there is a layer of caramel and spices. Full bodied. I believe this once was a reasonable brew!

Dark brown color; creamy head. Strange aroma, brown baking yeast, that covers some caramel, and candi. It has a medium-weak body, with very simple, sweetish, caramel flavor, and low bitterness. Boring.

UPDATED: OCT 4, 2009 Tasted at EBF08. Pours brown with an off-white head. Aroma is malt, coriander and anise. Flavour is light malt, notes of citus, coriander and anise. A bit unmatured when I tasted it. Rerated from bottle. Much better than at EBF08. Appearance and aroma is the same. Flavour is much more in balance.

Bottled. An amber beer with a thin tan head. The aroma has notes of elderflowers and malt as well as a weird note of caramel. The flavo ris sweet with notes of malt, caramel, and elderflowers, leading to a dry toffee finish. Thanks Brugmansia.

Bottle@Home. Toffee, raisin, prune, vanilla, hints of licorice and laurel aroma. Cloudy, beige small head, fair lace. Sweet, bitter, fruity, toffee, lightly spiced, medium body. Flavourful. Why Belgian Ale? With fuggles and cascade it really feels English.

Bottle. Reddish brown color. Malt, licorice, coreander and anis in the spicy aroma. Malty sweet, spicy flavor with anis, licorice and coreander. Hints of pear. The spices are not too dominant, therefore this is a pleasant, maybe a bit too sweet ale.

0.5 l bottle, thanks Timo A! Hazy reddish brown color. Sweet, toffeish, berryish and caramelly aroma with anise, licorice, chamomile and glue. Bittersweet, toffeish, spicy and slightly toasty flavor with anise and licorice. Thick full bodied palate, too thick in fact.

Hazy red brown with a small off-white head. Aroma of sweet caramel. Flavour is sweet, lots of caramel and a little weak hoppiness finish.
