Cask (gravity dispense) at Wandsworth Common Beer Festival @ Le Gothique on 25 March 2011 (noted at 4.0%). Amber colour - Golden Cap is a hill/cliff in Dorset and not a reference to the beer. I also picked up "baked beans" in the aroma, as I did with the same brewer’s What Ho Ginger that I tried immediately before. Some lasting, moderately bitter hops on the palate. Dry mouthfeel. Ended up quite drinkable. Shame about the beans though.

Bottle. A clear, golden beer topped by a minimal sized off-white head. Weak, lightly malty and fruity nose with some hints of dried apricots and grass. Boring flavor with a little bitterness towards the end. Fruityness and biscuity malts as well. Medium to thin on the palate, rather flat. An uninteresting beer that certainly doesn’t taste bad. 120623

Bottle form Corks, Bristol. I second the "baked beans" comment below. This really marred this beer. Aside from that there were some bread malts, a touch of fruity sweetness and a moderately bitter finish. Sadly, a struggle to finish.
