Cask conditioned at Far from the Madding Crowd, Oxford. Pale amber with white head. Gentle little session bitter, nicely balanced with a sweetish biscuity malt, a touch of peach in the background then a gentle fragrant, bittersweet hop. An enjoyable start to the days festivities.

Cask conditioned handpump Victoria Inn Northampton. A bright gold coloured beer with a whitish head and lacing. A fusty aroma with a bit of stale citrus hop. The hops are better in the mouth with nice orange notes. Served a little warm.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 chriso (7254) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 16, 2005
UPDATED: FEB 18, 2011 Cask (handpump) at Chelmsford Winter Beer Festival 2005. Pale amber colour. Distinct diacetyl notes on the aroma, which I found off-putting. Otherwise, it’s a reasonably well balanced, moderately hoppy, but unremarkable session bitter. Too delicate to cope with the intrusive butterscotch. Sadly, not in peak condition methinks. [4/3/6/3/12 = 2.8] RE-RATE. Cask (handpump) at the Cask Pub & Kitchen on 17 January 2011 - meet the brewer night, with 10 Mighty Oak beers on tap. Looks good - bright darkish amber with sparkling condition and a thin white head. Much fresher and cleaner than when I tasted it before. However, tasted next to a lot of ebullient golden ales it came over as a rather staid traditional English session bitter. Solid but not too exciting. Score updated [6/4/6/3/12 = 3.1]

Cask. Pours gold with a white head. Bready/biscuity aroma with a light sweetness. The flavor has sweet malts, a hoppy hint, and a little bit of a fruity sweetness. Not bad.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Spiesy (2338) - Sydney, Greater London, AUSTRALIA - OCT 1, 2003
Cask Conditioned, at the Saint Albans Beer Festival, 2003. Crystal clear gold coloured body. Stunning conditioning, as were all the Mighty Oak ales, you had to see this one to believe it. Large frothy speckled head. Sulphurous aroma that settled after a time. Pleasant bitterness and refreshing palate.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 ladnewton (1147) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 14, 2010
Cask at the Southampton Arms, London on 11th February 2010. Crystal clear gold with small, thickly lacing off-white head. Slight yeasty aroma, soon hoppy with grassy bitterness. A lingering, tickling bitterness on the roof of the mouth with a bitter, but rather short-lived finish.
2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 MartinKubert (862) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - JAN 7, 2004
cask: Quite bitter brew. The aroma is quite hoppy. The flavor is both sweet and hoppy. Start is mild and finish is clean and hoppy with a bitter feeling.
