Comments: This CAMRA’s 2007 beer of the year is a citrusy, flowery well balanced and crisp golden ale. Very mineral example, but pleasant and drinkable.

Gravity, Masons Arm, Oxford. Shiny pale copper, smallish white skim of bubbles. Corn pollen aroma, a bit of honey. Candy hops, a bright but sticky malt character, a little biscuit finish. Palatable, but rather sweet for my taste, and not one of Mighty Oak’s best efforts.

(Cask at GBBF, London, 9 Aug 2007) Golden yellow colour with green tinges, brief white head. Fruity nose with lemon peel, spicy notes of grassy hops and biscuity malt aromas. Fruity taste with notes of lemon, grapefruit and grassy hops in the finish. Underlying biscuity malt character. Balanced and very fresh.

Cask@GBBF2007. Yellowish golden colour, mediumsized white head. Aroma is honey, wood, fruity hops and some salty hints. Flavour is quite the same, but has a big bitterness kicking into it.
