Brewed using only Maris Otter pale malt for a light golden ale with biscuity malt flavour. Mount Hood and First Gold hops give a disctinctive citrus character along with a long dry bitter finish.

Cask @ GBBF 2007, London. Clear medium yellow color with a small, virtually none, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, biscuity, moderate hoppy, citrus. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a short to average duration. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is flat.

Cask@GBBF2007. Yellowish golden colour, mediumsized white head. Aroma is honey, wood, fruity hops and some salty hints. Flavour is quite the same, but has a big bitterness kicking into it.

Cask handpull at Saracen’s Head Hotel, Great Dunmow, Essex. Pale gold colour with thin white head. Sherberty floral hop aroma. Nice enough in mouth before sherberty distinctive hop kicks in. Very effervescent tingle on tongue lasts forever. Sweetish sherbert, but really good golden beer.

A Mes rate: Gravicask at GBBF. Clean gold colour. Lightly sweet and fruity aroma. Bitter hop flavour with a pleasant dry finish. I’ll agree with Ian on the sherbert notes. Not bad. Very drinkable session stuff.

Comments: This CAMRA’s 2007 beer of the year is a citrusy, flowery well balanced and crisp golden ale. Very mineral example, but pleasant and drinkable.

[Cask conditioned] Golden coloured. Quite some hops in this one. The bitterness is very sharp though.
