Pours clear dark brown beer. Frothy head. Nose of malt and sugar. Taste of malt, coffee and smokiness. Body is thin and taste finishes with a short hoppy flourish. Reminds me of a porter. A nice beer.

Cask at troon beer fest 07. Aroma is roasted malts, a decent amount of chocolate and liquice hints. Taste is similar, very full body infact one of the fullest bodyed beers below 8% iv ever had. Cant believe its 3.7% packed with flavour.

Cask (Peterborough BF 2007)
Rich deep brown, no head. Coffee aroma. Very pleasant rich malty taste, lightly hoppy. Malty finish - burnt and coffee-ey.

Cask. At The Wenlock Arms, London. This looks like a mighty fine stout - opaque black, decent creamy off-white head. Lovely dry roast aroma, sweet grain, roast coffee beans, light background hop bittering notes. The taste - oh, what a lovely mild - like an airy porter or stout, very light on the tongue - bitter when in the mouth, but no bitter aftertaste - very well balanced, plenty of malt character, but not syrupy or cloying. Dry, light and chocolate was my lingering impression. Damned good.

Deep amber with a thin off white head. Malt, toffee and barley nose. Watery coffee grounds and malt taste. Thin taste and on the palate.

(Cask at GBBF, London, 8 Aug 2007) Dark brown colour with brief pale brown head. Malty nose with roasted notes of coffee, chikory and dark fruit. Roasted taste with wild berries, coffee and a nice coffeeish bitterness in the finish. Thin body, but with more bitterness than most milds. Very tasty mild, one of the better I’ve tried.
