Cask at GBBF 2006. Black with ruby edges and a lasting beige head. Bit of butterscotch as well as roasted malt. Too butterscotchy for me.

[Cask at GBBF] Near black. Sweetish and lightly roasty. Dryish with clean rounded mouthfeel, yet notes of spun sugar. Lightly salty finish with some resin.

Half pint pulled at The Wenlonk Arms in Islington (London), dark with a light beige head. A light toffee aroma. A light and smooth palate, some sweetness in the easy malt flavour.

Very dark color. Nice aroma: roasted malt, toffee. Medium body, delicate roastiness, never aggressive, quite harmonious. Not extremely complex, but fully enjoyable.

Loughborough Fest ’05. Very dark red and brown with a beige head. Aromas are earthy chocolate and coffee with oats. Flavours are smooth chocolate with hints of fruity sourness. Roast malts are evident on the finish. Has floral hops. A very nice mild and a good start to the festival.
