Big and bad is the way this porter plays the game! A robust deep brown body with a balanced, mild sweetness, Terry’s is the perfect compilation of 4 malts and hops making this one an instant Portland classic.

On tap at the brewpub - Pours dark brown with a tan head. The aroma has cocoa, smooth roast, cream, earthy hops an English yeast. It has a medium body with a smooth feel and medium carbonation. The flavor begins with roasty malt, some cream, earthy/woody hops and some vanilla. The finish has a bit of char and good amount of dark chocolate. Nice porter.

"Near black pour. Hearty and robust aroma and flavor of roasted coffee, chocolate, ample hops in the background. Very smooth and drinkable. Solid........"

On tap at the brewpub in Portland. lack and opaque with ruby-brown edges. A durable tan head left streaks of sticky lacing. Aroma: slightly strong for style, with hints of cocoa nibs and burnt toast. Flavor: Fortunately, there’s far less burnt/char quality in the flavor than in the nose. Black coffee kicks in for the lingering, roasty aftertaste. Feel: full bodies with lively, medium carbonation. O: Decent, dark-roasted version of the style.

Brown in color, thin tan head. Nice Porter flavors and finish. I liked the sweetness and chocolate flavors.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a almost pure black color with a medium white head. A light nose of chocolates, some lactose. The flavor is medium toasted malts, lean chocolates, caramel, toffee perhaps, a bit thin. Some milkiness. OK.

Tap at Migration, Portland - 07/11/12. Very dark mahogony brown bordering light black with a thin tan head. Nose is dark roast malts, molasses, chocolate and liqourice. Taste follows nose, roast malt forward, bitter chocolate. Medium bodied with slightly spritzy carbonation, a little too much for me. Ok - drinkable porter but nothing too exciting.

Smoky, roasted notes arise, followed by cocoa. Brown/black with garnet edges and creamy taupe head. Less roast on the taste than would be expected, but pleasant. Focus is more on chocolate. Finish is remarkably smooth. Medium body, but easier drinking than usual. For a style I’m not usually fond of, a great beer. Easy to enjoy and drink without feeling like you’re choking on a chimeny.

Love that someone in Portland finally payed homage to Blazer great Terry Porter. Now we just need a Drexler and Lucas beer too! pours a solid black. big coffee aroma. flavor is on the medium side compared to the aroma. Solid porter.

Draught. Pours black with beige head. Much lacing. Slight aroma, due to being slightly too cold. Aroma is malty. Medium to full flavour, malt, chocolate and coffee notes. Coffee finish.
