A great effort as it pours deep brown from the tap. Notes and mouth show hints of cocoa and coffee. The finish gives a very nice dry feel.

Draught Duggan’s Microbrewery, Toronto. Pours near black with ample creamy head. Roast malt, coffee and chocolate in aroma. Beautiful creamy mouth feel. Medium bodied, lightly carbonated. Slight sweetness with slightly bitter finish. Another very nice Canadian stout.

Nice stuff. Pours near black with creamy light brown head. Beautiful silky mouthfeel. Roast/coffee/chocolate all there, nothing too aggressive, all well balanced.

On tap at the brewpub, served in an English pint glass. Pours black with a tall, thick and creamy brown head. The head remains and leaves behind thick, dense lace. The nose has aromas of clean malt, coffee, roasted barley and earthy hops. The flavour starts out slightly sweet and slightly bitter. The sweetness dissipates and it becomes more bitter towards the end. The finish is long and roasty, with an earthy hop quality. On the palate, it is full in body with a creamy texture and soft carbonation. On the whole, this is a great stout with a nice roasted coffee notes and hop aroma. It pours beautifully, with an enduring creamy head and has a beautiful aroma. Definitely worth another try. 2010-10-15

Draught, 4.9% at the brewpub. Good creamy and roasted aroma. Almost black colour, clear red shine. Big stable creamy light brown head. Good roasted flavour, distinct coffee notes, both brewed coffee and fresh-ground. Mild carbonation, silky mouthfeel. Mild sweetness to balance the roasted notes. Well-balanced.

Deep black/ruby pour. The nose is intensely roasty. Soft dark bitter chocolate and a nice dry flavour. A little bit of toffeeish toastiness. Soft sweet palate. Really lovely stout.

Big roast all over this one with some chocolate and coffee in there as well. Not much wrong with this one in the flavour but the mouthfeel is real thin and there’s not much there to back it up. A nice easy stout, and although good I feel like this could be a lot better

On tap at the brewpub. Nice dark coffee and malt. Mild chocolote and roastiness. Really enjoyed this one. Perhaps a touch too thin.

(tap) very dark brown with small tan head; aroma of coffee, simple but balanced flavour, not impressive

I tried this beer on tap on April 30, 2010 at "Duggan’s Brewery" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer was poured a very dark brown, almost black, with a 1/2" tan creamy head. The aroma was roasted malt, some chocolate, and some hops. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour was roasted malt. mild chocolate hints, and a nice bitter finish.
