On tap, pours a dark amber with a soft off white head. Aroma is malty, with some light floral and citrus hops. Has a very robust malt flavour on the palate, not very bitter. Okay IPA.

On tap at Caplansky’s Deli. Dark amber pour, fleeting off white head. Aroma is toasty and toffee malt, citrus and floral. This doesn’t really come together and I can’t decide what it is. Pretty heavy malt for an IPA. Hop character gets kind of hidden. Flavours don’t seem to mix well.

LCBO, six-pack of 275ml bottles ($11.35): Pours a copper like color with a big enough head. Aroma is fairly hoppy, but nothing extreme. Definitely more of a mild IPA. Nice malt backbone, but this is also lighter bodied than many IPAs I have had. Fairly easy to drink overall. High enough ABV to be a proper IPA. Well-balanced throughout. Not the best Canadian IPA I’ve had, but still perfectly nice.

Purchased a 6-pack of this at the LCBO, in 275ml bottles. Pours a clean copper colour with an off-white creamy-froth head that has a decent stay and some nice thick lacing. Hoppy nose with hints of caramel malts. Medium-bodied and well-brewed between good wetness and a little dryness. The taste is hoppy as well, but not too bitter, with some grain showing in the aftertaste. An easy-drinking APA.

Dogbrick (7669) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - FEB 20, 2012
Sample at the Strange Brew Tasting on 02/18/2012. Pours a dark amber color with a medium thin off-white head that evaporates quickly to an outer ring. Spotty lacing on the glass. The aroma is equally hoppy and malty. Medium body with a fruity hops character with sweet malt behind it. The finish is citrusy with a short mildly hoppy aftertaste. Worth the inevitable lawsuit? Slightly above average overall.

Can/bottle (don’t quite remember) shared by a friend. Clear amber pour with a thick beige head. Malty aroma with a bit of hop. Malty flavor up front, then slight citrus before a grassy hop finish.

Okay copper body with some modest head. Soft aroma of bad B.O. and some hops thrown in. Flavour is a decent 45-minute hop formula with a bit of malt. Okay balance, okay IPA. Just okay. Eh?

Not bad. Strong hops smell, medium body. Overall an average IPA - decently bitter but not a whole lot of character. Has a nice amber colour and head retention’s not bad. Hoppy but not super bitter.

[275 ml bottle at DwEEBs meeting] 275 ml, WTF!? I feel like dropping the score of this just for that stupidity. Do they think it’s cool or something to have little bottles? Did some Chinese glass bottle company screw up and give them some amazing deals on these miniature bottles? Microbrewery does not equal microbottles! Creamy pine aroma with a little grapefruit. Clear bronze under and off-white cover and a bubbly ring. Medium hops flavour with powdered sugar, strawberry, and pine. Faint caramel/toffee accents. Light to medium body, medium carbonation, slightly bitter finish.
