UPDATED: AUG 26, 2011 on tap at the pub. Pours very red in colour, good carbonation. Aromas are kinda disappointing. tame, quiet, but there is some hops and a slight hint of caramel. Palate is more of the same. attack is quiet, bitter finish but maybe not all due to hops and lacks complexity or malt backbone.

What happened? I’ve had this beer on draft and in a bottle before. It has recently become available at the LCBO in 275ml bottles. I was very excited to bring this beer home. Unfortunately, i was greeted by the aroma of a stale pale lager and a taste with little to no hops and lacking the bitter finish i remember. Perhaps the quality control has gone by the wayside while trying to stock the LCBO? I will have to try another batch.

Little surprising this is an IPA. it has an earthy like taste but not much bitterness and overall light hop flavour. I would say this is closer to an american pale ale. But overall this is not an outstanding beer

not sure how this is classified as an IPA. was decent, started out earthy and malty with a bitter light hop finish. kinda cheap how the bottles were 270ml

Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured clear brown color with an average frothy off-white head that lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted malt and earthy hop aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Moderate toasted bittersweet flavor with a moderate bittersweet finish of medium duration. Good brew.

Pours dark brown with medium head that retains. This bottle is sweet. Light aroma. Kind of tangy. Was expecting much better. There is no bottle date so I assume this is a little old. Probably would be better fresh on tap. I have more bottles so I will adjust my rating after having more.

275ml bottle. Pours a clear reddish brown with a creamy off-white head. Faint aromas of dark sugars, biscuit and resinous hops. Slight sweetness, faint cereal notes followed by bitter citrus pith hops, with earthy/woody notes in the finish. I’ve had this beer four times, and it never seems to be the same. This batch is definitely not as good as what I’ve had previously.

Tap at brewery. Nice IPA. Aromas of grass and caramel. Taste has a sweet start, with a bitter bite, and long length. Palate is velvety, with a medium body. Amber, with a frothy head.
