Bottle; home; batch 57. Abv 17.2% many thanks to my friend madmitch76! I gave it a high pour and the head quickly diminished but it did look good when it was there! The aroma is peaty; woody; grainial; leather; tar and liquorice. The taste is some oxidisation; peat; beachwood smokeyness; blackcurrant; tar; chocolate gateaux cake; figs; prunes; dried fruits; berries; some guey sticky toffee pudding and penny black jacks. A nice blend and a good sipper. Although incredibly drinkable for the abv.

Beer share. Thanks GothGargoyle! Pours a syrupy, dense, cloudy dark brown. Aroma of alcohol infused tootsie roll, raisin, dark chocolate, coffee. Taste is quite bitter upfront, and chased by a lingering, hint of sweetness. Very sticky mouthfeel, long dry finish.

Dark muddy and viscous black with virtually no head. Aroma is liquorice, molasses, dark fruits, burnt sugar, oak, soy sauce. Thick and viscous mouthfeel, bittersweet on the palate with a touch of bitter roast, pine and booze on the finish. Taste is burnt sugar, dates, raisins, molasses, soy sauce, hint of anise, bitter coffee dregs.

Una divinità olimpica dello stile imperial stout: supremamente densa e dal colore impenetrabile, note di caffé, cioccolatto, torbate, con una sfumatura leggermente amara, grado alcolico perfettamente celato. Esperienza indimenticabile!!

33 cl bottle @ home. Pours black with a tiny tan head that leaves no lacing. Aroma and flavour are roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate, dark fruits, and dark sugar - with a bitter and slightly alcoholic finish.

Bottle. Really black in color with a small beige head. After the pour you get some dark fruits and roasted dark chocolatey notes on the nose. Then follows an army made of more chocolate and some licorice. Under all of this there is a nice roasted coffee aroma as well. Burnt wet woody notes, dark roasted malts, bitter chocolate and ash in taste. Quite bitter for that matter. Even if this is heavy, I wouldn’t have guessed the abv to be this high. More of some dark chocolate and salty licorice notes in the end.

Bottle from secret santa - thanks! Pours inky black with a small dark brown head, creamy and slow to dissipate with pretty good lacing. Aroma is rich, roasty, chocolate, ashes, smoked peat, molasses, anise. Flavor is quite sweet, light plus bitter, rich with a light hint of smoke on top of a rich chocolate base. Full body, creamy mouthfeel. Pretty damn good.

Bottle. Pitch black in the glass, topped by a minimal sized beige head. Oily pour. Coffee, licorice, meaty hints, molasses, some dark chocolate and cocoa and an alcohol touch in the aroma. The flavor is pretty much the same, with lots of coffee. Dark chocolate, heavily roasted malts, molasses, some raisins. Full body, rather oily mouthfeel. Soft carbonation. Lasting warming finish with some sweet pepper booze. Sure nice this one, although a bit boozy. 141003
