The fifth beer made with our brew buddies, Three Floyds. A big and ballsy, tasty Barley wine following the same path as the previous “Goops” made available. This time with corn taking over the throne.

Bottle. One of the best 3 floods I've had. Sweet mango and candied citrus with a balance of dark malts of toffee and caramel very complex but, very straight forward. Love this. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Light hazy golden colour, white head. Aroma of hops, tropical fruits, mango, passion fruit. Bitter hoppy flavour, malts. Finish hops, malts, tropical fruits. Nice one, better than I was expecting.

(Bottle sample @ VilleValla Pub, Linköping, Feb 18 2015) Pours hazy medium orange with a small lacy white head. Aroma has caramel and corn syrup, lightly buttery, grapefruit and orange rind, hints of peaches and cream. Palate is sweet and pale malt/corn syrup dominated with a bit of sweet citrus and pale pit fruit character. Lightly buttery again? Hop bitterness very low and so is alcohol taste. Mild really. Medium full and a bit creamy with soft carb. Does not drink like a barley wine to me, more of a DIPA that’s a bit low on hops. I’d bump up the hops a bit and it’d be quite nice in that respect!

Bottle, 75cl. An unclear, orange-colored beer with a dense, off-white to light beige head leaving some lacings. It’s very hoppy on the nose, resiny, orangey and piney. It’s full-bodied and slightly warming on the palate, with a very suitable level of carbonation. Resins, pine cones and orange zest in the flavor, on a maltysweet backdrop. A good bitterness too, lasting for a long while. Pleasant indeed, perhaps a tad warming, but sure nice. 150124
