3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
37,5 cL bottle picked up@Ølbutikken, København. Biggish, lightly tanned head. Nut-brown body with good clarity. A peppery and woody malt aroma, quickly offset by the bold hops. Armloads of pine-neddles, resin, citrus-zest, earth and mixed bag tropical. Sweet, medium strong malt body with a touch of wiskey and wood. Nonetheless, taste is bitter and hop driven, dominated by an oily and resiny bitterness. Some fruity and leafy flavoring hops is there too. Thick and big-bodied. Everlasting bitterness in the finish. Not fully balanced, and quite agressive, actually. Yet a tasty and exciting beer experience.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
37.5cl bottle courtesy of Ole_R. Best before 2013-03-22. Very dark amber colour. Aroma is very hoppy and malty at the same time. Weird. Notes of alcohol, pineapples, pine. Flavour is very bitter and laden with alcohol. Notes of oak, ash, some smoke. Tar. Acidious. Long lingering aftertaste. too extreme for my palate.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Medium shiny beige head. Deep dark red body. Sharp spicy fruity pineapple aroma with pine needle and alcohol notes. Dry-sweet ashy whisky butter and citrus taste with fruity pineapple notes. Full-bodied. Sharp oily way-over-the-top mouthfeel. Bitter-sweet pineapple and resin aftertaste with ashy burnt notes. This is just too heavy. (0.375l bottle from Ole_R.)

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle @ BBF. Aroma of murky woody sweaty hops. Deep bitter woody hop bitterness, definitely not as bitter as 1000 IBU would suggest though. I think I like it better than the regular 1000 IBU. Long lingering hoppy liquorice and hop bitterness.

Bottle at Borefts Festival. It pours hazy amber with a medium off white head. The aroma is oak, vanilla, citrus and caramel. The flavour is oak, hops, sulfur, sweet caramel and light smoke. Interesting!

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle at Borefts Beer Festival 2010, courtesy of Mikkel and the boys - thanks guys! This one is slightly sweeter than the non-barrel version. The barrel does not overwhelm - oak is present in the aroma and the finish. Nice stuff.
