Tap@Mikkeller Bar, CPH (3/11/2014) - amber with a off-white head. Prominent sweet fruity hoppy and malty aroma and taste, caramel malts, toffee, some nice tropical mango and pine needles throughout, some spicy hop bite towards the great big bitter finish. Gorgeous.

Bottle from Vinmonopolet’s BU. Dark amber. Lots of slightly orange head. Pine, alcohol and some citrus nose. Very, very bitter. The lingering bitterness almost reminds me of a Gammel Dansk or similar bitter. Low carbonation. Thick body. Grapefruit, lemon, other citrus and herbal flavours. A bit overwhelming, unsurprisingly. Interesting.

Pours cloudy maple syrup with nice rocky beige head. Aroma is crazy with piney hops. Mouthfeel is smooth and not too thick or thin. Flavor is just ever evolving hops, from lime and grapefruit citrus to pine notes, with a long long bitter finish. Really enjoyable.

Hazy copper colour with lots of sediments and a big head layer with very good retention. Aroma has Simcoe traces, with pine and passion fruit, also a good malty character, but the most predominant is the hop. Taste is explosive, full of hoppiness, but with some pine and citrus traces. Aftertaste is bitter as hell. Extreme and enjoyable. Only for Hopheads.

-short review- golden with nice white head. Aroma is not to overpowering, grapefruit, citrus and some caramel. Slick palate. Insane long dry grassy hop finish. Overall: interesting. Aftertaste is insane.

Bottle. Pours a hazy dark amber with a medium off-white head. Aroma was really hoppy with pine, citrus, caramel and grapefruit. Flavor was very bitter and sweet with caramel, pine, grapefruit, grass and citrus rind.

Draught keg at William IV (Brodie’s). Intense resiny aromas with some sweet & sticky caramel in the backgrounds. Mouth-puckeringly bitter and astringent resin taste, with some sugary hint of over-ripe mango leaving a sweeter finish. Then starts again with every mouthful. Pretty intense beer but still drinkable if you have the bitterness tolerance to get over the first hit.

On tap at Sergio’s World of Beer. Pours a super thick with a thick off white head that completely laces the glass. Murky reddish amber in color. Nose is slightly nutty, with a resinous scent that dominates. Flavors of pine, toffee, and a huge bitter hop finish. Mouthfeel is very thick and syrupy. Try this if you can.

Saeglopur (395) - Vienna Woods, AUSTRIA - OCT 12, 2014
Bottle from AmmersinO, Vienna
Suprisingly dark red, hazy body, with a big, creamy, stable, beige head, that sticks to the glass a lot.
Aroma of citrus, red berries, peach and other stone fruits, some tropical fruits, caramel, tea.
Taste with about the same aromas, some additional roasty notes and the bitterness soon coming through.
Medium, oily mouthfeel, with a medium carbonation and in the finish the dry bitterness dominates and lasts forever, but there is also some roastiness, citrus, berries, stone fruits and a slight alcohol warmth.

Interesting and pretty unique. As expected with a strong bitterness, but well balanced by pleasant berries and stone fruits, caramel malts and even some roastyness. A heavy beer though that I can’t drink much, not only because of the strong bitterness, it is also pretty filling.

Didn’t get as much hop flavour or aroma as i thought i would from this beer. A strange kind of earthy, whiskey style flavour is present. It is very bitter but it feels like it lacks in late hop additions. I would get an Evil Twin Molotov Cocktail if you wan’t to experience an intense imperial IPA that takes hop flavour and aroma to the extreme.
