3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
0,33l bottle at home. Aroma has mango, grapefruit and tropical fruits in general, some pine, caramel. Malty and hoppy aroma.
Taste is quite strong and full bodied, the hoppiness is backed up with a big malty body, but still strikes pretty hard, not very smooth. Doesn’t get boozy though.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Surprisingly sweet carmelized sugar aroma that is boozy and has some dank earthy hops although not nearly as much as I was expecting. Dark amber color; possibly the darkest DIPA that I have ever seen. Very nice looking but the giant pillow of foam brings it down to a 4. Taste is bitter and very hoppy up front; the hops are strong but not all that complex. Some sweetness for balance, but this was left bitter on purpose. Grapefruit rind aftertaste. Average palate which is a little on the thin side. This delivers what it promises, but overall it is not that good of a beer. Mikkeller can do a lot better than this.

Smell of interesting yeast esters and hops, mainly the yeast though, damn nice smell. Taste was everything and more but not in a good way. Some fruits, bovril and gravy, like a meal. Fairly bitter but so sweet that they battle for supremacy. Willy wonka gobstopper Beer.

Draught. Floral, spicy aroma, lots of pineapple. Very strong bitterness, lingering, unpleasant. Full body, distinct sweetness, still to no avail, as the beer lacks balance. It is supposed to shock and not to taste good, I suppose.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
341ml bottle from Plattsburgh shared with brother. Aroma: grapefruits, caramel, bitterness yep we can smell it. App: murky brown, medium thick beige head, thick head, little lacing. Taste and palate: full body, medium high sweetness, high lingering bitter finish. Overall: kudos to them for succeeding in making this 1000 ibu. It’s not great and not that fruity but it’s a well made IIPA. Added some point for the challenge.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle@Kaisla, Helsinki, Finland. Strong/medium, bold aroma with sweet mango and biscuits. Deep orange color with medium naturally white head and hazy liquid. Strong, super hoppy taste of sweet and overaged fruits like mango. Some alcohol comes trough. Balanced, but extensive amounts of hops starts to hinder. medium taste spectrum and long hoppy aftertaste with dryer fruits. Strong/medium body with light/medium carbonation. Overall, Superbly hopped DIPA that starts to show some downsides of the excessive use of hops. Still, a great taste bomb.

Bottle to tulip glass. Pours a cloudy dark copper with a thick tan head. Nose of, well, hops. Piney citrus, and very dank. :) Very bitter, obviously, but the thing is how long it stays on the palate. Long, long finish. Pretty delicious.
