Extremely bitter. Extremely. Bitter. Looong lasting bitter aftertaste. Grassy aroma. Floating yeast is not very good but maybe adds even more bitterness. Very, very goood.

Orangish with a good sized off-white head. Tons of fruit, citrus and tropical, in the aroma with some caramel malt. Fruity and super bitter aroma. Very drinkable, though tough with a heavy cheeseburger. Medium bodied and super dry.

Deep orange colour, with big, nice, beige head. Sweet, hoppy aroma with tons of citrus fruits, grass and herbs. Sweet, malty and with some caramel in taste. Sweet beginng, but next we’re attacking by strong herbal bitterness with long aftertaste. Interesting experiment.

W głównej mierze mamy cytrusy i ogólnie zapachy "zielone" - świeżo skoszona trawa i suszone liście tytoniu.

Bottle from Brewdog. Pours Brown-Orange, single finger head, was very syrupy too. Aroma dominated by hops, grass, tropical fruits, citrus fruits, peach, caramel too. Tastes much the same, there is a real fruit blast and awesome bitterness on this, unbelievably bitter, what a great idea!

A crazy experiment - extremely bitter. I even felt the taste when waking up the next morning. Too much for me. A good experiment but not an excellent beer.

The person that came up with the idea that the human taste buds are incapable of registering any increased bitterness when the IBU goes beyond 100, has probably never tasted Mikkeller 1000 IBU. This is some serious bitter stuff. Not 10 times more bitter than a 100 IBU IPA, but it’s definitely by far the most bitter beer I’ve ever had. Despite the ridiculous, extremely long-lasting, lingering, tongue numbing heavy bitterness, this beer actually doesn’t feel unbalanced: there’s plenty of sweetness that backs up the hop attack. The very strong aroma is of course dominated by hops, lots and lots of overripe tropical fruits and citrus, but also a good dose of caramel. Unfortunately I also get some dull notes of sweat. The sweat isn’t present in the strong flavour, instead I get resin, and I also manage to pinpoint sweet peaches in the tropical fruit basket. The body is full, the texture is creamy, smooth and syrupy, the carbonation is soft. It’s a very good-looking beer: it looks syrupy and cloudy with an amber colour. The head is dense, beige and fully lasting: it stays finger thick until the glass is empty. Good lacing. A tasty DIPA and an extremely entertaining brew!

On tap at mikkeler sf. Pours a cloudy, brownish orange hue with a frothy, 1 finger head that leaves a massive amount of lacing on the way down. Floral hop notes and piney, sappy resin on the nose. Light caramel flavors on the front end give way to a massive assault of grapefruity, bitter hops that leave a lingering sharp bitterness on the tongue, long after the sip is over. Medium bodied with light carbonation. Really an awesome beer if you are in the mood for a hop bomb.

Deep, dark amber with medium, densed, white head. Great lacing. Good head retention. Aroma is mainly pine, resin and grassy, also in the background some floral and tropical fruits notes. Taste is very bitter, balanced with good malty backbone. In flavour again resin, pine and grassy accents. Aftertaste is long and very bitter. Medium body, thick texture, soft carbonation, Finsih is semi-dry, long and bitter. I’d say very long. In overall very balanced, hopped DIPA.
