Smells sweet and like pineapple. Served at cellar temp in my karmeliet tulip glass. Pours a dark amber almost looks like an American strong ale. Very hoppy can taste the booze not almost has a spicey aftertaste. Fun to try but wouldnít get again.

Poured from bottle into tulip. Pours a dense foggy amber/brown with intense mousse like head that has great lacing. Aromas of pine resin, grassy, earth tones, and sweet citrus. Taste is much of the same with a huge pine resin hit, some sweet citrus and a subtle malt backbone. Finish leaves a lingering bitterness. Quite an enjoyable beer.

An interesting aroma filled with hops, fruit, & sweet carmel. As for the flavor its intriguing. I taste malts, a sweetness from the caramel, grapefruit, and hops. Overall its very bitter and impacts the palate. The bitterness isnít bad and doesnít weaken the experience. The same goes for the palate. It is rough but not bad. My assumption of this bottle was that it would not be great for being a gimmick brew. As it turned out this drink was tasty and had one of the highest IBUs Iíve consumed.

37,5 cl bottle @ Hoppy Loft, Delirium Cafe. Rated on 19.07.2010
Aroma is sweetish with lots of hops, exotic fruits and caramel. Flavour is rather hoppy and somewhat sweet with exotic fruits, nettles, some gooseberry bush, biscuits and caramel. Good, not as hoppy as I expected.

Bottle. Pours deep copper color with a small head. Resin hop aroma with bold hop resin flavors with a malty body. Bitter finish. More drinkable than one would think for 1000 IBUs.

Pours a deep amber with a tan head and good lacing. Aroma is bitter with citrus, brown sugar and toffee. Full bodied, low carbonation. Wow, this is bitter. Suck your face back bitter. But there is some sweet malt backing. The full flavour and intensity reminds me of barley wines. Strong, heavy, bitter. Worth sharing a bottle to try. This is out of control. The bitterness lasts and lasts and gets more overwhelming on the finish. As exciting as this beer is, I canít give it a high rating as itís not practical.

Picked this up for the novelty of 1000 IBU. WOW, you get a whiff of this one as soon as you open er up. Resin, grapefruit, very fresh smelling. Somehow the malt powers through to actually stand up to the bitterness, which was a shock. This is a huge beer, all around. Really well balanced (the ABV is not very apparent here) and just a pleasure to drink.

Bottle at home. Maybe a touch old but still with a big kick. Bronze colour with fluffy golden head. Aroma is resinous hops, lots. Touch of carmel malt too but overwhelmed by the bitterness. Taste is nice. Maybe mellowed a touch. Nice malty body, initial big bitterness but after a few sips becomes more manageable. Bit of citrus, grassy too. Big bitterness lurking. Pretty nicel, one is enough. Good though.

37.5 cl bottle @ home. Pours cloudy dark amber with some sediment and a huge white head that leaves a ton of lacing. Aroma is pine, resin, pepper, grapefruit, and caramel. Flavour is pine, resin, grapefruit, and caramel Ė with a bitter finish. ABV is pretty well hidden.
