On tap at Henrik. Pours a very hazy brown colour with a pretty small off-white head. Malty and fruity aroma with grapefruit and hops. The flavour is surprisingly less bitter than expected, and is more sweet and reminds me of liqueur or maybe a british barley wine. There are also some fruit and apricot here, and with a dry hoppy ending. A rich and a bit sticky mouthfeel. This is really a powerful beer with a pleasant heavy bitterness.

Oooo! The reg version of one of my fave beers. Poured a very dark amber brew that is not clear with a dirty tan head made of large bubs and leaves a total mess. Sharp grapefruit nose followed by fuzzy peach goodness, sweet caramel, rrfg, lemon and fresh bread, solid fruity nose. The taste is very good with a healthy slightly powdery spice that end up morphing into an almost painful endless hardcore bitter after taste. Rrgf, more bitterness of both the pine and the grapefruit, caramel, peaches, sweetness, more harshness in the form of bitter abuse that starts to impose its will at about mid sip, holy crap that bitter quality is killer especially after many small, quick sips. Very good carb, nice sweetness right before mid sip and then the onslaught of bitter. Excellent beer - there are better one but.

Bottle to Tulip. Pours a cloudy golden brown with a thick light tan head that is fully lasting with the lacing sticking to the glass. Hoppy aroma is citrusy with hints of floral. Flavor is a mouthfull of hoppy citrus with a sweet bitterness that has a syrupy creamy texture. Fairly easy drinking if your a hop head!

From bottle to tulip. Huge head that overflowed glass. Very tarty heavy citrus taste with a sweet aftertaste. Not a favorite.

On tap @ Henrik. A unclear, actually on the border of being murky, brown-water colored with a big lasting beige head thatís lacing quite heavily down the glass. Caramel-sweet aroma with ripe fruity tones and hints of rye bread and flowers. Really nice, and I had totally expected something else. It has a really sticky mouthfeel, but it manages somehow to not be directly sweet. Surprisingly balanced - definitely in comparisment with the light-version. More of that rye tone found in the aroma. Itís quite thin-bitter at first, but then itís all caught up in the finish and aftertaste by a powerful candy- and malt-sweetness before a strong and rich bitter-hoppy aftertaste turns the flavors all round again. I liked it, but I kinda like beer so I guess thatís no shocker. 19.02.2012

Awesome leafy green hop aromas. Extremely sweet malty flavors and a little bitterness. Finishes with citrus and bitter. Overall a very interesting beer.

Cloudy brown with a ruby red look, quarter inch creamy crown leaving behind tons of lacing. Sweet peachy aroma, something Iíll call rotting apple, toffee, and the unmistakable aroma of warm milk. Massive bitterness in every sip with a big peach start. Earthy leather, mild wood, something that reminds me of smoked beef but not really. This a great beer, I canít stop drinking it. There is almost a peppery heat in the aftertaste. Flavour is full and thick but never in your face. Another great beer from Mikkeller that Iíll probably never buy again due to price. Mark to me actually seems to high.

Bottle to pint (split between two of us). Looks good; deep and opaque. Smells outstanding! By far the beerís best attribute. Tastes good; not as intense as I anticipated. I wonder what it tasted like fresh (and if it was better or worse). Palate is good too (considering). Overall, a much better beer than I expected.

Picked this up at Hunger Mountain Co-Op in Vermont. Taken right out of the fridge and poured into a Dogfish Head glass.

A - Pours with an appearance that resembles sewer water. Very milky with lots of sediment and an orange to brown mucky haze. The result is a thick orange beer that lets very little light through. The head was 3 fingers that had a leather color with a mix of big and small bubbles. The bubbles donít settle too fast and are very creamy in appearance as big bubbles go away.

S - Standard hop profile. Tons of grapefruit, tons of pine and citrus with hints of honey and vanilla. The aroma isnít what I expected though. Smells like a Double IPA but not a 1000 IBU IPA. letís see how the taste comes through.

T - Whoa. INTENSE bitterness. The bitterness overblows everything else in the bottle. Itís remarkable how strong this beer is but the booze and hops mask all other flavors. Itís intense for sure. Thereís not much going on Iím getting hop resin, loads of bitterness, pine and ruby red grapefruit.

M - 60% carbonation on a swish. Heavy bodied with a huge hop linger that sticks around forever. Itís an almost syrupy / oily with viscosity thatís unlike any other beer Iíve had.

O - This is more of a proof of concept really. Thereís nothing too memorable about this beer or worth buying again. Itís just an intensely strong beer with insane bitterness.

Pours a nice, redish amber, rather hazy though. Staying, medium, frothy, off-white head. Aroma is very hoppy, lots of fruit, apricot, peach, oranges and light pineapple. Medium carbonation, fat and oily mouthfeel with a very dry finish. Super hoppy flavour, dry, very bitter. Powerful bitterness that almost burns. So much hops and so much going on here...This was also the stickiest beer Iíve ever had. Maybe they should rename it Mikkeller 1000 Sticky Fingers
