3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Very much malty for 1000 IBU. I guess I expected a fresh hop smell and flavor. Very sweet and malty. No bitter after taste. I would not want more than a bottle in any given setting. Would be really great with very strong flavored food or snacks.

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
(bottle) brown/dark amber with small head. Fairly faint hop aroma. Flavor is alcohol, some darks malts/sweet dark fruit, and citrus hops. Not nearly as hoppy as I expected.

Murky amber with some floaties, no lasting head. Overripe exotic fruits, sweet bread, dried fruits and caramel. Big bitterness of course, but it was kind of a smooth bitterness.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Colore arancio scuro con leggera schiuma. Aroma notevole, decisamente luppolato. Anche in bocca il luppolo č padrone, ben equilibrato finisce molto lunga e amara. Mi piace, mi piace.

Dark copper color. A bit hazy. Thin off-white head. Floral, and Grassy hop and bready malt smell. Sweet malts are bit candy like. Fruit taste of apricot. Very bitter of course but not as much as DFH120. Medium to fuller body with lots of dryness.

(375ml bottle thanks to bu11zeye) rich orange/copper pour with a film of bubbles. Nose of sweet caramel, candied fruit, maple, cinnamon and scones. Taste of cola, caramel, bitter grapefruit, rhubarb, and quite spicy. Thick body, bitter linger. Well hidden alcohol presence.

On tap @ Beer Temple. Amber colored, hazy. Firm off white head, good lacing. Aroma’s of resin, fruit, flowery, herbal, pepper. Flavor is bitter, with some alcoholic sweetness to give it some balance. Medium bodied. Long, very bitter finish. Interesting brew, but ruins your tastebuds.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Impressively rocky light beige head thrones above the opaque copper, loaded with ugly chunks of yeast. The nose reminds of a fruit salad with canned peaches, litchi and grapefruit being the most obvious components to me. Underneath, a strong caramelly and toasty maltiness rhimes with heavy sweetness, not cloying thanks to the intense hops, but making the ensemble globally intense and not quite the single-minded hop focused ale I expected. Sprucey and resinous lingering finish with biting notes of grapefruit zest. Grasping bitterness that lasts for a while, removing the sugary impression. Full-bodied with a bubbly, but never biting foamy texture. Not very balanced despite my impression that the strong sweetness was partly there to keep the hoppiness in check. Just a basket of everything and not particularly complex in that regard. Still, it’s an experimental brew I’m glad to have tried, but given the opportunity to drink it again, I believe I’d pass.
