From a bottle... Crazy hoppy beer! Reminded me a lot of Dogfish Heads 120 minute... Really good if you like bitter hoppy! I loved it. Definitely not a session beer!

---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A tough one to place. Hop lovers will go for the Dank hoppy nose. The taste profile is obviously dominated by bitterness, including grapefruit, grapefruit rind, citrus and kiwi fruit. The hops build in the mouth over a three or four second timeframe. The astringent hops are bravely backstopped by caramel malts, nuttiness and a substantial, rich body. I’m in.

33cl bottle. Pours clear reddish amber with a solid thick beige head. Huge yeast flakes floating. Aroma is sweet malts, citrus peel and a lot (really a lot) of resinous vegetal notes along some spice. Taste is almost immediately overwhelmed by the crazy amount of hops, very strong dry bitter finish with lots of resinous and vegetal flavors. Extreme one but still drinkable.

Hours an awful muddy brown color with a thin white head. Nose is yeasty and slightly hoppy. Aromas are citrusy and fruity, but totally overwhelmed by a ridiculous bitterness. Medium texture, fizzy carbonation. Long very very very bitter finish. Just an experience, but nothing really interesting here. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

33 cl bottle, Calgary, AB, Canada via Coop. Opaque amber brown, thin head. Nectarine and resin aroma, some mint around the edges. Full body, sweet with a honey apple flavour, then a long persistent resinous yeast finish.

UPDATED: APR 9, 2015 Probably among the top ten highest IBU beers in the world; I am a hophead, but I have to admit this scares even me a bit considering most double IPAs rarely exceed 120 IBU. Still, I am always open to new experiences when it comes to beer of course, so let’s give it a try... Has a beautiful orangey copper colour, darker than usual for the style and hovering between light and dark, clear with some dark protein grounds but completely cloudy with deposit and in that state assuming the looks of a ’real’ dark beer; off-white, dense, medium thick head leaving a thick but very regularly structured, attractive lacing. Aroma is obviously dominated by a very, very powerful dank hoppiness, with impressions of grapefruit peel, tonic water, Angostura bitter and bitter root extract, wormwood, hemp, seaweed, blue cheese, leather, earth, pine resin, weeds, bitter honey, some red apple peel, dry white wine, freshly toasted bread (slightly burned even...), roasted pinenuts, walnuts and cranberries. Taste profile starts off with some nice sweetish and sourish fruits (redcurrant, mandarin, lemon zest), medium sharp carbonation, toasted and nutty malts underneath, but those do not get any chance to really develop: the salty and bitter accent at the very start, on the tip of the tongue, already reveals that there is a gigantic load of hoppiness to come, and indeed the bitterness grows and grows and becomes truly enormous in the end, bone dry, peppery, resinous, only lightly citrussy but more earthy, and finally quinine- and bitter root-like; no other flavours are allowed here, even the alcohol (considerable seen its ABV) is masked by the hops, though I do get a warming feeling after swallowing, of course. Needless to say, this huge hop bitterness lasts forever, I am convinced I will still be able to taste it when I get up tomorrow morning - which is exactly why I tasted this beer as the last. A treat if you like your beers thoroughly hoppy, it almost reminds me of Brewdog’s Sink the Bismarck, but at a more ’normal’ alcohol level and just a bit less intense in the hops department. Certainly one of the hoppiest beers I ever had so it delivers what it promises, but at the end of the day, I still prefer double IPAs with just a bit less of this bitterness, only to allow the malt sweetness to provide balance - not so much against the bitterness per se, but against the saltiness which this amount of hopping and dry-hopping often brings along. This one may perhaps be a tad too extreme to be truly classic, but extremes are a necessary thing in the dynamic world of craft beers - therefore, very interesting to taste this tongue- and throat-wrecking monster of an IPA!
